I upgraded to this head unit from the older model which was extremely good but after a while the tuner stopped working. There is very little change between the old and new model apart from the front panel colour system. I think I have been unlucky with this product or at least hope so: Neither the old nor new models have any CD memory so if you go over even a relatively small bump the CD stops playing for a couple of seconds. This is annoying. Hoever my new model skips when going round sharp corners and most roundabouts - this is extremely annoying and a bit of a joke (and yest the CD's are clean). this head unit is a work of art. after my kenwood head unit stop working i was shopping for a new cd player. i found the sony cdmx8800 and new it was the best head unit for me. the 4x52watts channels run standard sound systems with brilliant clarity and the 3 pre out channels allows it to run big sound systems. some of the great features on this head unit include:- dso - this feature allow you to raise the sound of your door speakers so they can be heard easier. this allows for an all round better sound quality. movies & screensavers - when the head unit is closed you can choose to have screensavers or movies play while you listen to ...
