I had this head unit for two years and I was very impressed at the quality of the sound and handling of the unit. Combine that with the low price and the usual list of support accessories from Sony (like adapting to my Renault stalk controls) and this is a great stereo. The features it possesses do make it a future proof player, as it can control MD and CD changers as well as having a Line-In on the back. The power is good for such a low class of unit and Sony really do know how to produce good players. It hasn't got all the funky graphics expected of the latest head units but still a very good player to buy second hand.
I have had this head unit for over a year now and I am still astounded by its quality for the money, the unit provides 4*35 Watts and is really quite good for the money. There is some neat little touches to the display and the D-Bass option by Sony allows you to change the bass levels quickly and effortlessly from song to song. The unit itself supports all the usual mod-cons that most units do including pre outs for amps and an additional auxilary jack for plugging in a CD/MD changer which is optional to the user. The amplification is crisp and clear and the performance is increased when using Sony branded speakers for obvious reasons. All round a good buy for the money and when I got mine from halfords there was free fitting anyway which saves you time of working out your wiring in your car which can be a real pain.
