Disadvantages: cost, similar to cheap wheel brushes

The Auto Glym wheel brush is literally a glorified toothbrush or alloy wheel brush with a premium price because of the name it carries. The brush claims that its advantage over other brushes is that it has no metal in its construction to damage the alloy wheel, although I have used all manner of brushes on my alloy wheels and none have damaged or scratched them. Modern alloy wheels are designed to combat all manner of stone chips/scrapes etc and using a normal brush is unlikely to harm them.

I can see the benefit of using this brush if you have a classic car with old wheels/wire wheels or indeed for engine compartments, however for the mass market I can see no benefit of using this brush over a cheap tesco alloy wheel brush costing £1

Overall, for modern wheels I wouldn't tell everyone to rush out and buy it, but it is obvious for the niche markets it would be ideal and would probably get a great review.

Summary: Not worthy of the investment unless you have a classic
