      Both are very good products but costly from Showroom Shine, the product I found by chance does exactly the same thing as it does have the Carnuaba Wax included and for 750ml is £4.99, tried it and it works well, bought another 5 bottles.2 x 750ml = 1.5L for £9.98Showroom Shine 1L = £14.99 plus P&P you do the maths, bought in UK, have a look around you may find t in the unusual place.

      An ideal product during this age of constant hose pipe bans

      This product is a waterless car cleaning system, It comes in varying sized bottles from 1litre upwards, each litre cleans approximately 8 cars, it does not appear cheap at £17.49 however the price varies a lot and by searching for special offers can be got a lot cheaper i.e. 1lt X 2 for £24. The bottle has a spray top and is used with microfiber cloths. When it first arrives or when it has been left the liquid settles into 2 colours:
      Yellow - Detergent
      White - carnuba wax
      You need to shake the bottle to mix these to a uniform colour.

      This product is certainly not new as I have been using it for about 5 years, originally it was for the entire vehicle though I notice now they do lots of other products such as exterior glass cleaner, wheel cleaner, bumper cleaner etc. Application is either by spraying small areas of the car or the micro fibre cloth; you can use one cloth to clean the car and the second cloth to shine it. The idea is any grit is encapsulated and lifted off without causing any scratching of the paintwork. Repeated use builds up the carnuba wax which forms a hard protective covering.

      My experience

      To clean the car all you need is the bottle and 2 microfiber cloths (the ones they supply are by far superior to cheaper makes), so no more lugging buckets or setting up the hose pipe. You spray an area, clean it with the first cloth then shine it with the second, it does not scratch the paintwork. It works very effectively but is harder work than any of the demonstrations make out, however it is no harder than washing the car with soapy water and sponge, the main difference being a) you can see what you are doing so don't have to go back to an area once done, which I do find is necessary with sponge and water and b) you have waxed and polished the car at the same time therefore saves a lot of time. Due to the build up of wax subsequent uses become easier.

      The shine/polish is very easy as it just rubs off without much effort, prior to this I only tried waxing my car once as it took so much rubbing and pressure to get the wax rubbed in. The other advantage is that it leaves no residue, so no white marks or streaks even if you put too much on. I have found it works well on the wheel hubs and wheels, its good on the glass but best not put on the windscreen, but it is not very good on black-body trims, it will not shine them and leaves them an off-black colour.

      My car is a metallic silver blue and it does not show this product to its best, yes it is shiny but not glowing. I have used it on friends' cars and it looked much more effective, especially on old, uncared for cars!

      This product can be applied in hot sun and remains just as ease to use and rub in, it can apparently be applied in rain - but why would you? Once applied any water beads off nicely.

      Summary

      An ideal product during this age of constant hose pipe bans, works out far cheaper than a car wash and does a much better job than even the hand wash ones. It a lot less hassle than the more traditional methods and gives a very good looking finish and protection.

        Wash the car without water!

        It is very rare that you can believe what you see on TV, not least on the myriad of shopping channels that clutter up the BBC airwaves. As such when I saw the miracle Showroom Shine on aforementioned channels I was very sceptical. As someone who lives in an upstairs flat it is not easy to clean the car and usually I would have to go to my mam's or a car wash. The idea that there was a product out there which I could use to clean my car without using water was very welcome. I purchased Showroom Shine from Amazon for £15.

        Show Room shine claims to be the revolutionary way to clean your car without water and get that 'new car' look in minutes.

        Cleans, polishes and protects in on - saving you time and money
        Water free, hassle free - easy to use, anytime, anywhere
        No streaks, smears, scratches or water spots
        Safe for use on all types of paint

        The demonstation on the TV saw the presenters spray paint a red car door with black spray paint a quick wipe on and off with the Show Room shine and the paint was gone. Not only that but the card had a brilliant shine.

        How do you use it?

        Show Room Shine could not be easier to use. Show Room Shine comes in a standard spray type bottle with 2 "miracle cloths" made of micro film. You spray the formula on to the area that need to be cleaned, rub it in with one cloth and then dry it off with another cloth. Voilla a beautifully shiny car - simple!

        Verdict.

        I have to say that I think this is an absolutely amazing product. It is easy to use and leaves brilliant results. Within 10 minutes I had done the whole exterior of the car including the windows. My car looked brand new with no streaks. I was worried about leaving a waxy sheen on the windshield but I have found this is not a problem. I was also concerned about scratching the paint work but again there was no problem. If like me you live in an upstairs flat you will know that it is a military operation to get the car clean at home. It was fantastic to be able to clean my car without all of the faff of buckets of water or hoses. Show Room Shine not only washes your car but also waxes it 2 for the price of one!

        I clean my car at least once a month and I have found that a bottle lasts about a year as you can do a whole car with only a small amount of spray. This product is excellent value for money. My pack came with 2 micro fibre cloths which you can just pop in the wash and re-use or just but replacements from your local supermarket.

        The only down side I have found is that the Show Room Shine is not suitable for the interior of my car. I found that on the plastic of the dashboard it leaves a white residue so would recommend using for the exterior only if you have a dark interior.

        I cannot recommend this product enough and already have done so to friends and family.

        Greased Lightning does not work at the speed of light, but certainly faster than soap and water.

        ~~~~Introduction~~~~~~
        I was idling away a few minutes one lunch time, watching Ideal World, to see what, if anything was new or interesting and had tuned in, just in time to see them demonstrating Greased Lightning, a cleaning agent for cars. It suddenly occurred to me that I had already bought some of this solution a few years ago, and had stashed it away unused and forgotten about it until this day.
        What is Greased Lightning? I hear you say. Sounds like something moving faster than the speed of light, which as we know, with our present understanding of the laws of physics, is not possible.
        Greased Lightning is a solution, designed to clean and polish the dirtiest of cars without the use of water, scratching the paintwork or leaving streaks. It also claims to achieve "A showroom shine," and will remove road film, tar, tree sap and bird droppings with the greatest of ease. In fact, it will work wonders on "metal, glass, plastic, or any glossy, non-porous painted surfaces."
        Well it would be a gross exaggeration to say that this product makes the cleaning and polishing of cars quite as fast as its name implies, but it certainly reduces the amount of time, sweat and soggy sleeves and feet, not to mention water bills, when cleaning the car.
        At first, I was a little sceptical, thinking that perhaps it was abrasive enough to remove a layer of paint along with the dirt and grime. Therefore, when I rescued my two-year-old bottle of Greased Lightning from its hiding place, I tested it on a freshly cleaned area on the underside of the rear bumper of my car, to see if any paint came off in the cloth, and found to my relief that it did not.
        ~~~ What does this solution contain?~~~

        < 5% non-ionic and anionic surfactants - which is a mix of negatively charged ions and neutral compounds in solution which reduces surface tension and allows the liquid to spread rather than sit in globules, a bit like a detergent - and > 30% petroleum light distillate. The sums do not add up, but that is all that is on the label.

        When left standing, the solution separates into two distinct layers. The top layer, about quarter of the total volume, is an almost clear primrose yellow liquid, whereas the remainder is an opaque milky white.
        Before use, the bottle should be shaken to mix and activate the contents.

        ~~~Cost~~~
        Two bottles of the solution are now on offer on Ideal world for £19.99 plus £4.99 post and packaging.
        One bottle contains 1 litre, and to clean and polish a car the size of my Honda Jazz, I used less than an eighth of the contents.
        ~~~My experience and opinion~~~

        After satisfying myself that the liquid would not damage the paintwork on my car, which incidentally had not seen shampoo, sponge or polish for a year, I decided to clean the car before its service, due soon.

        In the past, when I have cleaned the car using hose, shampoo and polish, it has taken almost two and a half hours to wash, chamois dry, polish and buff the vehicle then clear everything away, even longer when using buckets of water.

        Armed with two microfiber cloths, and a well-shaken bottle of Greased Lightning, I set about cleaning and polishing the car. Firstly, squirting the liquid on half the bonnet, then rubbing it with one cloth to clean and buffing it with the other to shine, continuing systematically around the car, each time just cleaning and polishing a small area at a time. The whole process took just under half an hour. The grime just wiped away more easily than when I have used sponge and water. Even the mud caked on the underside of the seals came away as if it were just dust.

        Although it is perfectly good for cleaning windows, it is recommended that the windscreen not be cleaned with Greased Lightning or any polish other than proper windscreen wash, for it will smear in the rain when the wipers are working.

        However, there is one property of Greased Lightning that I have yet to touch upon. Not only is it quick and easy to use; not only does it give the car a show-room shine; but Greased Lightning claim that it protects the paintwork from road tar, grease, sticky tree sap which often comes from lime trees, and will even protect it from paint, accidentally or deliberately sprayed onto the car.
        So if any of these things land on the sparkling, treated paintwork of your car, a simple application of Greased Lightning, left on for a minute or two, will encapsulate (for want of a better word) the offending substance and will polish off relatively easily without causing any damage whatsoever to the car paintwork. I might one day spray some paint on a test piece of metal to test the claims, but not on my car.

        I have not tried this out on my car, I have to say, nor do I feel inclined to spray paint or tar onto my car, for the purpose of this review - sorry. However, I have seen it demonstrated on tar and paint sprayed onto a vehicle and left to dry, so must assume that those claims are valid. The showroom shine claim certainly is.

        All in all, I am very happy with the results, my car will look clean all year round now and with the minimum of effort on my part or the worry that I would be wasting precious water. One bottle is good for many cleans, I have lost count now, but I have cleaned the car about 8 times and there is still plenty left in the bottle.

          My advice is wash your car and use it if your pushed on time. Polish and wax if you can.

          Before I go any further in my review I have not used this product like you may have seen on the tv adverts.
          You have probably seen the demonstration of the Showroom Shine being used straight onto a dirty car and wiped off with a cloth revealing a great shine and super clean car.
          I didnt really trust this advice so I washed my car as normal with car shampoo and water to totally clean the car the traditional way. After drying the car completely I decided to try the product. I sprayed it onto my car bodywork, rubbed into the surface before buffing off with another cloth. I did not specially try the Showroom Shine on the black trim or windows but the odd bit of overspray meant I needed to buff it off.
          My first impressions were that I really liked the product as it was very easy to apply and to remove with none of that white dust left over you can get with polish. The shine it gives in my opinion is as good as the polish and wax format I had been using before.
          I have used it 2-3 times since and the novelty has worn off slightly although it may be I am being fussy.
          I would only suggest this as a bodywork solution as it isn't as good for the black trim as other things i've tried before that really restore that black look and shine. However I do like the trim to be very shiny and almost wet looking as opposed to the more subdued satin finish the Showroom shine gives. So it's a judgement call on that one. You will also still need a glass cleaner as you cannot use it on your windshield but only side windows. For me though the big worry is does it really replace your old polish and wax? It has always been my understanding that polish is used to remove the slight scratches in the paint and to bring out the shine. Wax is then used to protect from the elements. I am unsure how well Showroom shine tackles the scratches or protects as it's one product opposed to two. Overall I find myself using my old polish and wax if I have the time and the weather is good. If I am rushed for time il wash the car and finish wth Showroom Shine.

          Awesome product! Buy it now!

          This is one of those products that i saw on the shopping channel and i thought looked intriguing. Don't get me wrong, i don't ever believe the claims they make on any kind of tv shopping channels. I think those of you who are cynics like myself will understand where i am coming from. They tend to make elaborate statements which seem too good to be true and that often turns out to be the case.

          When i first saw the Greased Lighting Showroom Shine advert they were showing a gleaming red Ferrari 360 being spray painted with a black aerosol can by one of the presenters in a hooligan-ish type manner. I was absolutely horrified (being the great car lover that i am) thinking they are never going to able to take that spray paint off that car now. As if by magic, the car is restored to its natural beauty within 15 minutes! I had to get this and try it for myself, but the price was making me think twice.

          However, with the winter coming up and my creaky joints playing up again i couldn't afford to spend an hour every couple of weeks washing the cars and then polishing them. I needed a car polish that was effective and, more to the point, quick to apply. And as i have 2 cars to maintain I opted to give this product a go. Normally the process of washing a car involves washing and drying the car and then you need to apply wax allow to dry and then remove with a microfiber cloth and then buff it for a great finish. Instead of using multiple cleaning products, according to Greased Lightning, this is all you need to give your car that showroom finish.

          The bottle is very practical, in that the liquid comes in a spray bottle, as opposed to say, Turtle wax bottles. The liquid itself is a creamy milky colour and has the same consistency as water. Another added benefit is that it has a really nice perfume smell as opposed to other car cleaning products.

          In terms of what makes it work, the key ingredients are Carnauba wax (a combination of fatty acids (80-85%), fatty alcohols (10-16%), acids (3-6%) and hydrocarbons (1-3%). This is what gives your car the protection from the elements, it acts like a barrier. Similar to other waxes, except this lasts alot longer than your average products. This also serves to give a glossy finish to the paintwork.

          Not only can you use this on your car, but around the home as well. Darth (our Daewoo American Fridge Freezer) has received a glossy coat from the showroom shine. It can also be used on worktops, windows, mirrors, metal surfaces, fibre glass, gel coat or any glossy, non-porous surface. It removes most types of dirt that you'll encounter on the roads, such as road film, tree sap and bird droppings etc. I've tried it myself on rust patches on an old car and it even removed most of the caked on rust. This is an absolutely brilliant product and if you can get past the price, it will be well worth it and a permanent addition to your car cleaning arsenal.

          The directions say to spray evenly on each bodypart (I'm referring to the car not yourself! LOL) and then with a dry cloth, rub the liquid in using a circular motion until dry. However i found it easier to spray the cloth and then apply it to the bodywork therefore there's less waste. The result is a very shiny car that lasts for around 2-3 weeks before you need to apply it again. It takes around 15 minutes (like they advertised) to complete a whole estate type car and according to Greased Lightning, a 1 litre bottle will clean up to 15 cars, so it works out very cheap indeed. You can also use it on the windows and interior, so bear that in mind when counting how long the bottle lasts.

          Greased Lightning is part of the Medsa Group, a private company that develops pioneering, fast growing and lucrative businesses. They focus their attention on companies that make a difference to people's lives. As the overlookers, they share their outlook with the companies in their portfolio - they state that customers should be listened to. So far, this sounds idyllic. They are currently backing Shield Automotive, The Recycling Company and DTR Medical.

          As a company, Greased Lightning have a range of other products which are for use either around your home or for car maintenance. On their website you can tell your story and be entered into a monthly prize draw where you could potentially win products to the value of £25. At the moment, to entice people to purchase from Ideal World, they putting entries in to win a brand new car. This is subject to your purchase being before December 11th 2009.

          Ideal World has various packages - 1 bottle for £19.99, a quad pack for £37.98, with the postage added on top of £6.95 make it a less cost effective method. The more you buy, the cheaper it works out. I suppose if you've got a car garage, then it might make sense to bulk buy, but as we only have 2 it seems more logical to get the single bottle. As with most purchases, I tend to make a concerted effort to find that same product cheaper. For this reason, I did not use Ideal World and instead bought my Showroom Shine from Ebay. I managed to get the same 1litre bottle for £15 with free P&P!

          The advantages of using this product:
          * You don't need water, so it's environmentally friendly and economical at the same time.
          * It's easy to use. There's no need for any further 'equipment' such as sponges, buckets, detergents or hoses. Rather than take your car through a jet wash costing, on average £5 per use, it is more cost effective to use this product. You can get a thorough clean, that lasts with the Showroom Shine.

          At £15 per 1 litre bottle it can seem to be exorbitant but with the multiple uses it has, it turns out to be well worth the wonga! All in all this is a fantastic product i honestly would recommend it to anybody who owns a car or even just use it as a household cleaner.
