Quite a while back my husband and I had a go at caravanning, we were quite successful but gave up after a couple of years as the expense of storing the van and the effort required in setting the van up each week/weekend we went away was costing more and more each year.
Part of having a caravan is keeping it clean so a couple of times a year we would drag the caravan back to our house and give it thorough clean inside and out. To help make cleaning the outside of the caravan easier we purchased a Sealy Telescopic Brush that would fit on to the end of our hose.
Unfortunately as new caravan owners we brought our Telescopic Brush from a local caravan/camping shop and paid over the odds for the brush. They are currently available for less then £20 on Amazon uk.
The brush clicks easily onto Hozelock/Hozelock style fittings. Once the brush is attached and you are in position to clean your caravan or other large vehicle turn on the water and start to brush the dirt off the caravan. The synthetic bristles are very soft and do not scratch the surface of the caravan and they easily get into all the nooks a crannies and dislodge the build up of dirt, bird poo and green algae/moss.
If you want to use a cleaning solution with the brush I found that it was best to mix the solution up in a large bucket and then use the brush, without the hose attached, to brush down the caravan and then use the brush with the hose attached to rinse the caravan down.
The Telescopic Brush easily extends from 0.9 meter to 1.7 meter. To extend the brush just twist the fitting on the pole and extend the brush to your desired length. When the brush is fully extended it remains sturdy and relatively easy to manoeuvre.
Despite the lightness of the brush my arms were soon aching as it does require a lot of effort to do a thorough cleaning job.
As I previously mentioned we no longer have a caravan but we still have this telescopic brush as it is super handy in the garden for cleaning down garden furniture and the soft synthetic bristled make it ideal for quickly cleaning our easy up pool when we don't want to go to all the trouble of draining and refilling. We use this brush to agitate the bottom of the pool and then let the pump run to filter bits out.
I have also given the windows a quick clean using this brush. It does not do a very good as this is not what it is made for but it does clear off the muck and spiders ready for me to climb up and do the job properly. I have also been known to attack the wheelie bins with this brush.I use it to clean down anything that I would use a hose pipe and brush on.
In conclusion I feel this is a great multi-purpose outdoor item. After a few years of use the bristles are starting to look a little worn but I think it still has a few years left in it.
