Advantages: Protects the car

Disadvantages: Takes forever

My boyfriend loves to take care of his car so when I saw this Wonder Wax two set kit on offer for £4.99, I decided to buy him it. Unfortunately he scorned at it and refused to used it so rather than let it go to waste, I decided to use it but I wish I had not bothered.

==Price and availability==

This is available in a two set process or three. The three is being sold online for £8.99 and the two can be bought for £6.99 although I bought mine from a local hardware store.

==Description==

The two step process consists of a resin polish and a glaze paint sealer. Both come in the 500 ml size. Both bottles have a lid and a squeezy hole for you to dispense the liquid. Both products have a cream, thin consistency. The resin polish is a mild abrasive and removes the very top layer of paint and also takes away the dirt and grime. This is usual for a resin as it needs to strip it back to apply the coating. The polish will then form a protective layer on the paintwork to protect it from damage from the various pollutants in the atmosphere and from UV rays that can fade the colour. The glaze paint sealer adds the extra layer of shine and protects seals in the resin polish making the shine last longer.

==Using the product==

Oh my god this is the most time consuming product. If you have a spare 5 hours then buy this, if not do not bother as this is not a quick fix solutiuon. The resin polish takes ages to work into the paintwork (do not forget that you need to wash it first and hose it down and dry it. If you use fairly liquid this helps to break down the old polish so you are ready for the top layer.) Once the car is covered it looks more dirty than clean at this point, you then need a clean dry cloth to buff out the polish until the deep shine comes through. If you have ever bulled a pair of boots it is very similar to this. Once you have done this and your arms are aching, you then need to repeat the process with the sealant. This is much easier to work in than the wax but it is hard to get a perfect shine as I can see the circular strokes I make when rubbing it in.

I found this set so tedious and to be honest, the sealant was a waste of time. The car did not hold the shine any longer than if you went ahead and used the resin polish on its own. I think it is a bit of a gimmick. It is certainly one of those products that you get what you put in and you really do need to put the work into this.
I like the idea of my paintwork being protected from UV rays and pollutants and it did look shiny after using it, but as soon as the car was driven it seemed to lose its gloss. On a plus side, you do not need much resin polish to buff up a car so if you love spending hours and hours stroking your precise car then this is for you, but if not, don't bother.
