Stoplock wont stop a lot (Metro Stoplock Pulsar)

Advantages: Deterrant, Reasonable Cost

Disadvantages: Easily removed without key in 30minutes

When I bought my fiesta back in April 2004, it only came with standard immobiliser not an alarm so I decided it would be better if I purchased another deterrant as I had invested so much money giving it the sports look to have it taken from me for not having a deterrant on it seemed pointless.

I went to Halfords to look at the car security devices that they had on sale and decided I wanted one that would go over the steering wheel as the other models required glueing the gearstick which on a brand new car was not something that I wanted to do so... I bought myself the stoplock for £34.99 and invested in the model that was slightly larger to accommodate cars with airbags.

Easy to use, comes complete with two keys with unique code on and a replacement order form should you need to order more keys, something later on in the review you will realise I wish I had done. Stickers also came to display on your window to show that you have implemented added security methods.
The stop lock is fitted by looping through the steering wheel once in place it then clicks shut and the light illuminates to show this is secure. This can now only be opened by key.

Now this has given me some fantastic peace of mind on keeping my vehicle secure that was until I had my handbag stolen with the house keys and car keys in (take note if that was you in Alton Towers in June) and I realised I would not be able to remove the stoplock as I had misplaced the key, so my fella told me he would drill through to try and remove it and with a simple drill he had the stoplock off in 30 minutes.
I know this is simply a deterrant to a would be car thief but it no longer puts my mind at rest and I worry about leaving my car unattended late and night and the sole purpose of me purchasing this was to give me peace of mind.

Overall I purchased another replacement as I thought it worthwhile having a deterrant in place on the car as it makes it that little bit harder for people to break into your car and attempt to steal it, but maybe now I would invest in a more upgraded version.

Summary: Deters burgulars but with only this to protect it give them 30 minutes and it's theirs
