Advantages: OK in the dry

Disadvantages: Appalling in the wet, Don't last, Expensive for the performance

Had these fitted to my Peugeot 306 GLX and could find very little to like about them. In the dry, they're okay, and are quite predictable, but in the wet they are downright dangerous. Wet grip is pathetic. They resist aquaplaning reasonably well, but as soon as you start to press on in the corners, the car slides at stupidly low speeds. Understeer is not a known feature of the 306's chassis, but in the wet, I simply could not drive the car enthusiastically as it lacked any form of bite from the front end into corners. The tyres also robbed the car of some of its steering feel.

The fronts were down to the wear markers in just 12,000 miles so I swapped them for a pair of Firestone Firehawks. Wow! The bite from the front end, and all the steering feel returned, and with the slippy Dunlops on the back, wet weather gave the car a lovely, slightly tail happy balance. Entering fast corners now saw the car's nose stay true to the chosen line, instead of the steering going light and the car heading rapidly for the hedge.

The SP Sports were awful tyres. Wouldn't have them on another car if you paid me.
