Advantages: Excellent wet and dry grip, Good feel, Quiet
Disadvantages: Nothing in particular
Had these fitted to my Fiesta Zetec-S (also reviewed on the site) in size 195/50/15 V. Very very good tyre. The Ventura replaced the Eagle NCT2 as an all round high performance tyre, and works very well in all weathers. The directional tread pattern is "V - grooved" like the more expensive Eagle F1, and gives outstanding grip in the wet. They're quiet too. On the Fiesta they worked brilliantly, offering a noticeable improvement in noise levels, wet grip and "feel" over the OEM Pirelli P6000's. The car could be pushed to the limit, and beyond, with lots of confidence in both wet and dry conditions. Wore well too. Despite a lot of abuse, the fronts were about half worn at 7,000 miles and the rears still looked new apart from some light scuffing on the edge of the tyres (lift off oversteer does that!). Cost wise, they're comparable to most other premium brand tyres, and offer good all round performance. If you avoid the high street rip off outlets and choose a good discount tyre fitter such as a Protyre outlet, you can pick them up for less than a lot of the high street's budget brands. Fitted and balanced, the 195/50/15's for the Zetec-S were just £39 each. At twice the price, they would be good value. At that price they're outstanding. Recommended
