Advantages: roadholding, reliabilty, known product

Disadvantages: wear, wet grip at less than 3mm, prices too high

This tyre is on my 1990 VW passat Estate-Variant-Wagon 1588cc 80hp/59kw auto and is used in NE England in a damp climate on paved roads in mixed urban and rural driving.

I have had this vehicle fron new and it has covered 265k miles. It is maintained to a very high standard. This car often runs at full payload of 1800kg. The maritime climate varies between minus 5C to 25C in summer. Tyre pressure is kept at 39psi on all four road wheels standard at 185x65x14.

My driving style is varied. Two drivers use this vehicle.

This is a directional tyre. Your spare therefore needs to be non directional.

Out of 10 I would rate this tyre at 8. Positive roadholding in the dry and reasonable as long as tread depth is 3mm+. Better than the Toyo 330s I ran previously.

Tyre life is about 23k miles. Not oustanding but this tyre offers better grip than most.

If you can read german go to the OEMTC website and find the tyre tests there in. These are reliable objective tests. Then try the USA sites and compare the two. Note the prices as well. The UK is not the cheapest place to buy tyres!!
