Lo Scarabeo Tarot of Marseilles ... interest in learning about the Tarot was largely inspired by Alejandro Jodorowsky s spectacular film The Holy Mountain , and the short documentary on the Tarot of Marseilles which accompanies it in the Tartan box set. I d been intrigued by Tarot cards before, but had been put off actually buying any as the decks I d seen around often didn t have artwork that I felt I could like. I noticed the Marseilles Tarot looked sort of like the type of cards used in old horror films, which appealed to me, along with the fact it was very old. The Tarot of Marseilles is not the first 78 card deck but seems to be the first that was mass-produced and circulated far and wideany known... Made up of four distinctly marked suits of 13 cards, ascending in numerical order from the value of 1 to 13, there are literally hundreds of games you can play with them. It has to be said, that everyone should have a pack of cards handy at all times. Top Trumps ... Trumps is a card game for two or more players. Each set is based around a certain topic, such as fast cars. Each card contains a different item in that category (e.g. different types of sports car). Each card contains numerical data relating to that item (such as top speed, BHP etc). The game is played by two or more players, with the aim being to call out a category which you think you beat other s cards on, and if you do you win their card. If you don t, the winner takes your card and takes over control of which category to call. The winner is the person who ends up with all of the cards.
