Lexicon is a card game that has been around for many years. I used to play it with my Mum when I was at school so that is going back a while. probably about 40 years. The idea of the game is very similar to rummy but you play with a set of cards that have letters on them instead of a normal pack. The cards also have a number on them and this is the amount of points you get for this letter. You dont get points for putting the cards down, you get points for having them left in your hand when the game finishes so it is best to try to get rid of the high numbers first. You are dealt ten cards each and you have to try to make up words from ... Read the complete review

I simply love words and word games such as Lexicon and Scrabble. I've started playing Lexicon years ago, and despite the somewhat modified version that my friends and I developed to suit our childish notions, I ended up loving the "proper" way of playing it- even if I have to admit that you can still tweak around the rules a bit. The reason why I love this game is that it's quite compact and easy to carry around, and I often find myself playing this while I'm in the train. This is also both suitable for adults and children. The game is quite simple, actually. Each card displays a particular letter, along with a small-printed number which states ... Read the complete review

Lexicon was first marketed in 1930 by Waddingtons toys. Its changed remarkably little since then. Its a based upon a very simple concept and theres not much that really could be changed. Its very simplicity makes it an easy game for both children and adults to play and it takes up very little space making it a great game to play on trains and ferries as well as at home. Lexicon is a card game with a difference, instead of numbers each card features a single letter with a points value similar. The pack measures 12cm x 9cm x 2cm. It contains a deck of Lexicon cards, a pad of tear off single use score cards and the instructions for three different games that can ... Read the complete review

I've been playing Lexicon since I was a kid - although I have only recently begun playing it again after I saw the Top Cards version of Lexicon in Waitrose recently for £7.50. I bought it on a whim as I was traveling to South America and I thought it would be something small and light that I could pack in my hand luggage to keep us entertained while traveling. Although the cards come in a relatively bulky box, if you take the cards out of the box, they are about the same size as a pack of playing cards (dimensions: 12cm x 9cm x 3cm) - and so its easy to carry in hand luggage. Basically, the game is simple. On each card is a letter in bold from any letter in ... Read the complete review

Lexicon has been around since the 1930s. It is a brilliant word game that will give hours of fun. It has not dated and I still enjoy playing this as an adult, as much as I did when I was a child. There are three games that can be played using the letter cards. 1. Master Lexicon is a game to make up words with the letters that you have. 2. Lexicon Criss-Cross is a crossword type game (I personally find this one a little confusing!) 3. Lexicon Riddance is a speed game where players race to use up cards. Each box contains 52 cards, a score pad and game rules. The box of Lexicon cards costs about £6. It is well worth it ... Read the complete review
