Fantastic Artwork. What a set this is. comprises of a book, map, ring and cards. If you like anything to do with lord of the rings then this is good, possibly not ideal for a beginner, but we all need to start somewhere. Right the set s brought out in 1998, by Terry Donaldson. so nearly 10 years old. There are 40 cards with wonderful designs on them. There choice in how to use this set, you can lay a card down and use the ring as a pendulum to get the yes/no answer . The Pack that I have is slightly different from the picture on this site. Mine is the Lord of the Rings Oracle, published by Thorsons in 1988. What attracted me to this particular set was the packaging. It looks like a ancient tome from Middle Earth. To open it you need to undo the ribbon. Inside is it treasure, a book, a map and a ring. The book, written by Terry Donaldson explains how to use the oracle. Firstly you need to open the map as it is a representation of your entire life in symbolic form and place it flat on a table.
