I've been a fan of fantasy role-play, (it's not as naughty as it sounds, you play fantasy characters in a quest made up by the Dungeon Master, (DM)), for years now and although role-playing is fun it can be a pain in the bum having to create a character, (a process that can take endless hours), before the fun can begin. There is also a lot of time spent for the person who is creating the adventure. Sometimes you can't be bothered but you still want to play. Munchkin is the perfect solution to this problem. (Check out http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Role-playing for more information on role-playing games, (RPGs)). ~~~~~ What is Munchkin? ... Read the complete review

Munchkin is another light Steve Jackson Games product that is fun, but quite shallow. It took me back to when I first started playing Dungeons and Dragons 26 years ago. Games then comprised of running round dungeons killing as many monsters as possible and hoarding all that nice treasure. Ahhh, the old days. Nostalgia ain't what it used to be. The object is to Invade a dungeon, kick doors down, kill anything that moves, collect booty, and be the first player to reach level 10! The game plays as simple as that. It comprises of 2 decks of cards, Dungeon cards and Treasure cards. Each player starts off with 2 cards from each deck. ... Read the complete review

"Munchkin is a tasteless parody game which brings the essence of the dungeon-crawling experience - without all that messy roleplaying" As the above quote says Munchkin is a card game that pokes fun at the more serious aspects of roleplaying games like dungeons and Dragons. It involves fighting incredibly stupid monsters (like Stoned Golem, Snails on Speed & Gazebo), or more probably running from them early on, and picking up treasure and items trying to build up your character. The aim of the game is to reach the magical 10th level before any of the other players do, while at the same time doing your utmost to use the cards ... Read the complete review

Munchkin is a card game for 3 or more players, which is basically poking fun at geeky games and roleplaying games. The idea is that you are a party of adventurers in a dungeon, and you are each trying to beat the others to make it to level 10. You start off on level 1 and with a few cards to help you start off. You have cards to decide race, class, weapons etc. Most of these are funny and/or playing on words that you don't have to be geeky to understand. You also have cards which you can use against your opponents. When it's your turn, you can play any applicable cards, and you have to 'open a door' in the dungeon (done by picking up a ... Munchkins poke fun at role playing games and thus, the cards use are really humourous. Three to six players can play this game. The goal is to reach level 10. Along the way, you have to backstab, cooperate, treasure gather and kill the enemies. You have a race, a class (occupation) and two hands to hold things. Different races and classes give you advantages and disadvantages. The main stack of cards contains curses (, enemies (I love the Lawyer enemy card) and cards that give you chances to run/backstab/race/class. The treasure pile contains skills and cards to turn the game to your advantage. Each time you kill an enemy, you get a treasure or ... Read the complete review
