Advantages: Good fun
Disadvantages: You can play the game without buying it
This simple little game comes in a small box which includes a set of cards and the little bell that you have to ding when somebody says yes or no in answer to any of the questions on the cards.
Each of the cards contains ten questions which should be read in quick succession to the player whose go it is. The cards all ask questions on the same theme and are designed to trick people into saying yes or no. An example might be, 'What is your middle name?' 'It's not Mary?' 'Do you like your name?' etc.
The game can be played with any age players, pretty much as soon as they can read but even before that they could just answer questions. It can be played by any number of players although as only two are actually involved at once (unless you have a separate bell monitor) there might be too much waiting around with a large number. Still, each round is very quick.
You can adapt the game according to age and ability. For example younger players can be given longer to answer questions. For more accomplished players you can be very strict on the rules, such as only giving a couple of seconds for each answer before you ding the bell. You can also ban giving the same answer more than once or answering 'I don't know' (sounds like no)!
This game is fairly inexpensive but could easily be played without buying the game, just by players taking it in turns to ask questions they make up. In this way you can tailor it to the players. And you can have fun making up the sound effects instead of the bell!
Summary: The game could give you ideas for making up your own more ingenious questions.
