I've owned MANY card readers and USB sticks. This is the one that I am currently using. It is a very good piece of kit and it's very useful for when you getting the data off of SD cards that you have laying around. I bought this product because my cameras software was not compatable with my computer and so I had no way of getting the pictures off of my camera. I bought one of these off of eBay for £12.00 recieved it within 2 weeks and now I am able to get my pictures very quickly. There is no software or anything that you need to install. It works just like a USB stick, where you can store small amounts of data on it and just drag and drop the files you want to put onto it or take off of it.
I would definately reccomend this if your cameras software is a bit of a pain to use (which most are). It saves a lot of time and bother and for only £10 there's not really a way of going wrong. It's also very small so you can fit it in your pocket with ease and take it to work or school or college with it.
The Lexar USB 2.0 Pro XD Card Reader is an extremely useful device.
The product is listed as costing £11.70 from Amazon, but I purchased mine for around £9 from Staples.
The device itself is small and the hinged card compartment accepts the following media:
-Memory Stick Pro
All card types slide in securely without feeling like the cards are being damaged - which is why you should always purchase a decent make of reader.
The end section (which enters the computer) has a small blue cap, which protects the main interface. Be careful however, as it can be lost easily.
It works with Apple MacOS 8.6 or later, Apple MacOS X and Microsoft Windows 98SE/2000/ME/XP.
The product is extremely reliable, and has been used by me for the last three years.
I don't want to string out this review with unnecessary waffle - as there's only so much you can say about a device of this type - and I think i've said it already, therefore i'm giving this product a quick, concise 'Highly Recommended'.
