We have here a fantastic little device from 'Trust', a not so well known brand creating electrical products for the mass market. Though the company is relatively unheard of, it has created something unbelievably useful at a great low price here. Around £40.00 will buy you a '39-in-1 Mini SIM and Memory Card Reader' which has the ability to connect memory units of varying shape and capacity to your PC via a USB connection/port.
what a fantastic idea, the 39-in-1 solves a common problem experienced amongst technology users (which accounts for the majority of UK population) - It's a complicated cacophony, the connection possibilities you are faced with from a range of memory card/flash drive/SIM card thingys which unfortunately don't all seem to fit into a PC's housing.
USB is a universally utilised connection method, and the 39-in-1 takes a list of (you guessed it) 39 cards and allows them to connect through the USB platform. MultiMedia cards, SD and Micro-SD cards, Mini-SD and Memory Stick Micro (M2) are all among the list of lucky attachables which comply 100% with the product. They slip easily into the housing of the device and are easily removed using nothing but your feeble fingers. They can also be left in the device over time - weeks if you require - so that whatever card you are using, it will always seem like you're using a standard (though oddly holed) memory/flash stick.
The 39-in-1 is coloured a dark grey and feels of high quality and durability. Alike most products of this scale, dropping it from waist height won't encure damage because this thing is incredibly light and well put together. The only problem with its exterior is the tendency for small bits of dust, fluff and other dirt to clog inside the holes - but these can be easily blown out. I recommend keeping the USB stick in a wallet or other satchel to refrain this from happening. Similarly, water damage is a big problem with the product as it is with many electrical items.
The 39-in-1 is only capable of reading one card at any one time. This is its major drawback, but the device simply doesn't wield enough computing strength and power to relay that kind of information over the short period it is connected to a laptop/PC. Overall however, the drawbacks of this device are few and quite insignificant to say how useful this thing can be when put to good use. It is a reliable bit of kit great for professional and home use - a good present as well I think.
Summary: At the right price, I see no reason not to buy this if you have a use for it.
