      Thanks For Reading

If your computer or laptop does not have an internal card reader, and you want the ability for it to be able to read and write to memory cards, then the easiest way is to buy an external card reader such as this "Trust SuperSpeed USB 3.0 Mini Card Reader."

This card reader has a lot going for it, and will keep most people happy, however there are a few things that really let it down.

The main highlight of this card reader is it's USB3.0 (superspeed connection) which has the ability to transfer photographs, video and other files much quicker. This feature will only work however if the device is plugged into a USB3.0 port and you will not get the same "superspeed" on the older USB ports. Other highlights include it's plug and play driverless facility for easy of use, it's compact size and portability and support for all common memory cards such as SD, SDHC, SDXC, MS, Micro SD and MMC.

Build quality is very good and the device feels very robust. The only failing here is that there is no cap for the USB end meaning it is exposed to the elements and dust should you need a portable reader, it could easily get damaged. Again it is a very easy device to use as it mounts memory cards as removable storage in Windows. It's just a case of plugging it in and thanks to auto play you can have your images or videos up in seconds.

In terms of performance this is an extremely fast card reader when used on USB3.0. I has no problem handling 16Gb cards filled with RAW files and it does so without breaking a sweat. It is massively faster than my USB2 card reader and for that alone it does save a lot of time.

It's worth noting however there is no support for Compact flash cards, I find this to be a disadvantage as many of these cards are still used by DSLR cameras and will be of no use to CF users.

At just over twenty pounds at time of buying and reviewing, it is by no means the cheapest on the market. However given what it offers the asking price and what's on offer, I do feel that this is unreasonable. Granted that it is very fast, however if you don't need the added features of this card reader and can wait a few minutes extra, then you would be best buying a cheaper model. If speed and size is important then trust me this Trust reader won't let you down but remember the problems I've highlighted.
