Rover 214i 3-door:
... deserve credit. On a low budget and designed as a cheap way of powering there base cars this motor still punches above its weight today. And its weight is very low to! Lotus and caterham used it remember....

Audi A3 in general ... its a bit flat in 1600 form. There are good bits, The way its put together is impressive. Its all very sturdy and cost no object. The chassis feels rigid to. But that said for a car of these dimensions i found the handling a bit unpredicatable. It feels responsive but start to lean on it and it gives you little idea of when the understeer is to be swapped with oversteer. If you lean on it i recomend avoiding using the ESP. This not only useless but dangerous in the dry. In ice or the wet it swings the other way and can keep the car pointing where you want it to! Rover 800 ... competent big car. The T16 turbo engine is fantastic, where in the smaller cars its dynamite in the bigger 800 it gives flexibilty its 6 cylinder rivals cant touch. I have a modded version of this engine which has been raced and is still going strong at 160k miles. Rumours of it being fragile are totally unfounded. They are tough, even if abused (I really do abuse mine). AND.... it handles. Yep, a Rover 800 that can not only go round corners but do so well. It will hang onto many modern hot hatches. And it does so in style. These cars can be picked up for next to nothing these days. Even by modern standerds they are impressive to drive. Oh, and it comes wi... Toyota Yaris 1.0 VVT-i CDX 5dr ... an energetic boost, and after you gain the speed the want, go right back up to fifth. Petrols very cheap on this car!!! The drawback of this is that everyone will want to borrow your car because it runs on air (joke) but its just annoying when I get home from college to find my baby in more demand for shopping etc, and i still have to pay for the petrol they use!!! but granted its not much. Another nice thing about the car is the gear box, the range of movement required is little so theres less chance of miss gear change, it feels kind of sporty to me because i can quickly go from £rd to 2nd or 3rd to 4th with little finger movements.
