Alfa Romeo 147:
...
However, the real nightmare arrived 4 weeks ago, when, the day after a full service (the car has been faithfully maintained), it conked out on a remote country road. The cam belt had gone and caused an estimated NZ$9,000 damage to valves etc. The car had done 110,000 kms, and despite Alfa apparently (I have since learned) having issued a warming about cam belts needing to be replaced after 3 years (!!), in m... BMW 318iS ... Standard your looking at 150bhp and if you spend and additional £300 you could easily get that to 185bhp. I bought a new 1/2 exhaust system for £170 and a K+N Induction Kit (57-0276) and also some HKS Iridium spark plugs, £40. My car is now flying and Im so happy with it. Overall, if your lucky enough to get your hands on a 1.9 thats in good nick, you wont be dissapointed. M3 looks, near M3 performance and a heck of a lot cheaper on the insurance and tax. Make sure when buying one that it doesnt have too many miles on the clock (around 80-100 thousand is good). Make sure that its original. Make sure theres service history with it and finally have a set budget for im... Read the full review: BMW 318IS IS REALLY A 2L M3, I THINK! by MATT |

Mazda 323 1.8i 16v Sport ... with the parts, only fixes required were wear & tear like tyres, breaks and the exhaust. Clutch -------- *This car got me up to 85,000 miles without having to replace the clutch although by the time I came to trade it in, the clutch was on its last leg. Pretty good as some cars need clutch replaced sooner. Major work done? ------------------------ Did have to get the main drive belt replaced at about 75,000 miles which was per the manufacturers recommended specifications. Overall --------- Very nice car to drive Excellent value for money as didn't cost >£4000 secondhand and repair costs compared to some other makes were very low. Very long lasting but keep ... Jaguar XJS History ... kids. (Or very small adults!) The interior design was lifted straight from the XJ series. Jaguar upgraded the car in 1981, adding a larger 5.3 litre V-12 engine which gave it better fuel economy and far more power, and rechristened the car the XJS - HE. (High Efficiency) A cabriolet version with a rigid fold back roof was added in 1983 which was strictly a two-seater model, and this was produced up until 1988, when it was replaced by a top-of -the -range full convertible model with a electric folding roof. At the same time a TWR version was introduced which developed an awesome 333 bhp. In 1991 Jaguar invested over £50 million in totally revamping the car in an atte...
