Chevrolet Cobalt in General: ... mechanicals, but the Cobalt is definitely much less sophisticated than the Astra, which will soon be on sale in the US and Canada as a Saturn. As a compact car, the Cobalt is pretty unsophisticated. I found the engine to be thrasy and the automatic gearbox pretty lethargic. Inside the build quality was average, with horrible cheap plastic and nasty seat fabric everywhere. I was surprised to find a compact that s...

jamesontheroad Chevrolet Impala in General
... bulk sales to corporate and rental fleets. I've driven a handful of Impalas, all of them entry or low-spec rentals. The car comes with 3.5L, 3.9L or 5.3L V6 and automatic transmission. It's one of the last remaining full-size automobiles (if not the only one) that can still be ordered with a column shift and pseudo-bench seat up front. The car is reasonably economical and performance isn't bad for a full-size, although if you're looking to buy a full-size sedan you should probably compare the Impala closely to similar models offered by Honda, Toyota, Nissan, etc, which are increasingly charismatic compared to the pretty dull Impala. Inside and out, build quality is go...

... is. Annual clear outs used to involve half a dozen trips to the local tip, one trip now does the trick. No denying it's a big car but it's so easy to drive, it just eats motorway miles, with the cruise control and absolute joy to use. The automatic 4WD takes the guess work out of poor road conditions by switching between two and four wheel drive as and when required. Servicing has caused no problems and has been carried out by my local garage, who seem to have had no trouble securing spare parts. Consumable spares (filters etc.) are sourced locally and the only none consumable part I've required, in over two years of ownership, (hand brake cable) was sourced from the ...

tagheur Chevrolet Corvette in general
... They released the C3. Known colloquially as the “Shark” or the “Coke Bottle” Corvette owing to its pinched waist, it was the victim of serious under-development and it was justifiably “panned” by the press. Car & Driver, probably the most influential auto magazine in the US at the time, refused to test the car on the grounds that it was so under-developed as to be unsafe! What had gone wrong? Well firstly, Duntov and his team had wanted a mid-engined car to replace the C2 but GM wouldn’t let them have the money. This meant that they wasted a lot ...
