Daewoo Matiz SE 5-door
by WillJoelTaylor
Although at first the Matiz doesn't look like a great car, it's small and thin with a tiny engine. Although the tiny engine sounds bad, it held it's own on the motorway and never let me down. During the time I owned it not once did it break down or cost me anything other than petrol, tax or insurance. I didn't expect much from this car ... and being the special edition I was surprised by the SONY tape player that was connected to a 10 disc CD Changer under the passenger seat, this is so easy to use and meant I didn't have to waste time taking a single CD out each time I wanted to listen to something different, the player had a Shuffle option which I haven't seen on any other in car player's I've seen although I know there are some. It's a thin car but I still managed to get 4 of my friends in safely when we went out. The car was simple to drive and helped me a lot whilst I was passing my test, I was confident in driving this car knowing how easy it was. I have had 2 more cars since this yet it was only a year ago and part of me really misses this car.
Edit:
Sold the car as I wanted something a bit faster and bigger. The car was fuel efficient and the cheapest of all my cars to run. As it was my first car the insurance was £3,200 with Adrian Flux but was cheaper than any other car or insurer I could find at that time.
Boot space was pretty good, I managed to fit a 12" sub woofer in the car and still had enough space for if I really needed to carry anything else in the boot. Read the complete review |

Daewoo Matiz SE+ A/C 5-door
by skatealexia
What I love about this car is the fact that it is compact, and still manages to look stylish without taking the boxy look that quite a few small cars do, it is very low in the insurance markers for me, a new driver, and has a low petrol and MOT cost as well. My car is about 10 years old and in very good condition, as a new driver it ... gives me confidence as it is very clearly marked and easy to use and I've had no problems with the car so far, the lack of boot space could be a problem for some people but I find it would fit my weekly shopping in easily, easy to change overall, looks a stylish car for being quite cheap and comes with hardly any problems. My car even has a CD player in now so its all set and ready to go. Would reccomend very highly to all new drivers. Read the complete review |

Daewoo Kalos
by kathpig
I really like my kalos. I have had it for a few years and has sailed through service and MOT every time. It is a lovely car for a run around and although it does not have a huge boot space, it can fit ample in for our 3 person family for 3/4 day breaks. I like the fact that it has air con as it has proved brilliant on those few hot ... summer days that we have had. What amazed me was it was bumped by a transit van and the transit came off the worse! It seems to be really good on petrol, not including wear and tear I go door to door to work cheaper than by bus! I would seriously consider buying another model if I ever get rid of this one.
The only down side is the road tax seems high for such a small car. Read the complete review |
