Ford Mondeo 2.5i V6 24v Ghia X
by Legion666
OMG, as my 10 year old would say, what a car. The Ford Mondeo 2.5 24valve V6, it's a mouthful in its self. Where does one star I ask myself? Well bring a typical man at 35 I have had mine and others fair share of cars from ford fiesta's to Mercedes, with Toyota's Vauxhalls' Renaults' and Lexus to name but a few, all of which have been ... top spec. But never in my life have I owned a car like this. I will start by giving you the bog standard spec's and break these down into cost running prices as sometimes information can mean nothing to those of us who get blinded by tec heads. Below I have listed the facts and figures that you will find about this car:
Fuel urban =19.5 mpg
Extra urban = 37.7 mpg
Combined = 28 mpg
Bhp = 170
So in English in Southampton on 4th December petrol prices are £1.30per lt I have put in £34 from empty and got 201 miles., this took me to just over half full. The tank from empty is 58.5 Lts. To fill it up and drive without being stupid you will get between 437 to 480 miles and that's just me doing lots of short journeys.
The car it's self is amazing, a Ghia X, every button and toy going. I'm yet to find a major down side. The only tiny thing I can comment on is the fact that the car mist up very quick whenever you get in and the climate control needs to be on full and the need for the heated screen, but please note this is only during the winter time.
The plus sides are endless, cruise control (over 30mph only) leather seats, iPod adapter, full electric everything including head mirror. Please note that the tyres for this car retail at £220 per tyre as you might expect from the speed it car do. The car sits low and local speed humps can be a pain the backside if taken fast. The turning circle of the car is by far the best I have ever encountered. If its speed your looking for when pulling away use 1st gear to 4000 rpm then quick shift to 2nd gear and floor it, the gear box is small and tight and very direct, this quick change makes one hell of a difference.
The boot is huge and plenty of room for the kitchen sink! Under the boot carpet is a space saver wheel.(not my most favourite wheel)
As cars go this really does have it all, style, comfort beyond anything I've ever had, a very sexy voice (engine) and space for the whole family. This car is a wolf in sheep's clothing! Two tiny badges sit either side of the car saying V6 and that's it. You will leave BMW, Audi, Lexus, and Mercs standing that's a promise.
There have been a lot of reviews regarding the fuel cost, mine is this. It's a V6 you know your in a fast car, you can drive fast if you want to, but you won't for one reason and one reason only, you will fall in love with it and treat it like your 1st ever love. This is a luxury and very powerful car. 10 out of 10, and to quote a widow sticker "Sell my Mondeo? I would rather put wasps up my backside!" Read the complete review |
