... 40 mph. If I am doing 10-30 mph then that is where this lets you down and I get about 28-31 mpg. This is not bad, but you do have to bear in mind this is a car for longer distances. Given that I have the automatic the CO2 is higher at 224g/km. It just misses the top Car tax band, but who knows for the future. Land Rover Discovery ... Land Rover Discovery has been around for 2 years now, and is a phenomally popular car, many people think of it as the best 4x4 car on the market. I know many people have critisised it for its enviromental issues, but I will not express any issuses in this category throughout the review. As it s a 4x4 I think I better start with the off road area. The car handles very well in off road situations and holds its own. The suspension on the car manages to make for a better experience in comfort while off road. This is the 3.5 litre buick based engine fitted to many Rovers and Land Rovers over the years. A well tried and trusted engine that can be tweaked to gain more power. Land Rover Freelander in general ... It is almost seven years old, only has 51000 miles on the clock and has had one previous owner. It is a fully serviced and well maintained vehicle and I wouldn t want any other. It is a five door, 2.0 deisel td4 so it is quite economical and nippy for a 4x4. I use it as an off road vehicle, it has a towbar and I have yet to find somethign that it won t tow. My brother has a 24 year old Land Rover and the only thing that stops my car going where his doesn t is the ground clearance is not as much. At the moment my car is parked at a crazy angle up in a field and it had no problems what so ever getting there. Although I live in the country, I have had it in Glas...
