Land Rover Freelander in general:
... Freelander is not a Honda, it is not a Mitsubishi or a Hyundai or a Mercedes. It is an excellent off roader, a genuine town and country estate, and not a shopping trolley or glorified handbag. Unlike it's MPV cousins, the Freelander has HDC (Hill Descent Control) which enables you to eliminate overrun when going down steep slopes. Excellent for when towing. It also has full traction control, virtually elim... Read the full review: This is a real off roader, not a shopping trolley by nickp1234 |

Land Rover Defender 90 ... all know that the Land Rover Defender is the ultimate utilitarian off-roader. But what's it like as an everyday road car? You have a large turning circle, but it's not as large as the Defender 110. The square corners mean you don't have to guess where the corners are, but it also effectively makes the turning circle larger. You have good visibility, over the roofs of the rest of the traffic. For best visibility have rear side windows. Otherwise, you can't look over your shoulder to check the blind spot, and you have to be perfectly positioned when turning right onto a road in order to see all the traffic to your left. The big m... Land Rover Freelander 1.8 S Hardback 3dr ... had wanted this car since it came out and couldnot wait til i had enough to buy one, the big day arrived and i was over the moon ....until the moon came up. the 007 style back window that lowers when at the press of a button started to lower without the press of a button and at the same time disarms the alarm system which is nice when you are at a resteraunt and its raining. then the wiper motor failed and so did the replacement, then there were the rattles that irritate to undescribable levels. i did unlike most take mine off road which is where this car was made for, it handles better off road than my mates defender and discovery the only downfall is the lack of cl... Land Rover Freelander in general ... purchased my Freelander new in April 2001. It is the 1.8 hardback version in Monte Carlo Blue. As far as 4x4's go, I think the Freelander is, if not the most attractive, certainly one of them. It was the looks that made my decision to buy this model, but as they say "Looks can deceive"!!!! My main gripe about the car is the lack of performance. Whilst being a 4x4 I didn't expect it to have the power of a farrari, the 1.8 version is seriously slow. The engine is the K series enging and not the best engine in my eyes. The reason why I didn't opt for the TD4 model was because of engine noise, but the K series engine can be almost as noisy as a dies... Read the full review: 1.8 version underpowered by bigsquidge |
