Lotus Elise 1.8:
... light! It has pedals, a gear lever, a handbrake, arms for controlling wipers and indicators, headlight controls, heater / blower controls, a steering wheel, and that's it. Certainly no air conditioning, or pop-out cup holders, or electric windows, or anything else. But you don't need all that stuff. I've driven other cars since getting my Lotus (and a long-wheelbase van – going straight from a sports car to that w... Read the full review: The four wheeled love of my life by crispy |

Lotus Elise 2000 ... these days so if it breaks down you just call the AA don't you? There isn't a spare tyre by the way, they're for puffs. AESTHETICS It looks like sex on a stick - no matter the depths to which your self esteem may plummet you cannot feel like anything other than a goddess when you are driving this car. All that bare metal and suede.... grrrr easy tiger. The speedo is made by a pukka supplier of club motorsport telemetry equipment - Stack. At night, when you turn the lights on, the speedo goes blue and the pointers on the dial go flourescent pink - definitely a woman thing this one. It has glassed in headlights which follow the line and shape of the bod... Read the full review: Small but perfectly formed by sweary |

Lotus Elise 1.8 ... car is at it's happiest on smooth country roads on a sunny day and being looked at by people who don't have to climb into one (which is a major hassle - my girlfriend hated it because she couldn't climb in and out properly). Servicing was quite cheap and petrol costs weren't bad either. In the end we gave it back and my partner went back to her MR2 Turbo which was cheaper, quieter, faster, handles almost as well, has leather upholstery and air conditioning, and doesn't need ear defenders. It's just that in this "out and out sports car" class, the luxur... Read the full review: Supercar?.....Errr. No. by JohnNessworthy |

Lotus Exige ... not recommended!), so forget idling at anything under 2000rpm. If you are driving in the city then don’t expect to get any higher than 3rd gear. The instructor on my driving session had set up a slalom course for me to get used to the handling – you need to drive the car through corners and it reacts very well to any small adjustments in the steering. Not so good on tight turns – the turning circle isn’t that tight and the high wings make it difficult to judge where the corners of the car are. A lso, reversing is quite tricky as the extremely small rear windscreen an... Read the full review: Great Fun With Your Clothes On. by jools30 |
