Rover 75 2.0 litre CDT: ... Rover 75 has an image problem. There are those that say it is called the 75 because that is the average age of the owners of the vehicle. For this I think we have to look at Rover s corporate image and the image chosen for the 75 in its advertising. Rover does not seem to have benefited in image terms for its period of ownership by BMW. Rather Rover seems to be have been perceived in these terms, Rover owned BY ...

JMD Rover 214i 3-door
... had 2 Rover 214i s, The first i never drove as a standerd car, just moddified it. A lot. Engine was swapped for a 250bhp T16 and the suspension and brakes were changed to track spec items. So, when i came to drive a 214i for the first time i was prepared for a disapointment. The modded car was seriously impressive (proved in competion) so could the base machine compare? Amazingly it did. It drove supperbly. Rover had obviously delibratly tamed the chassis but it felt so capable and was jus spot on. Not fun like a focus, just capable. Very. The engines deserve credit. On a low budget and designed as a cheap way of powering there base cars this motor still punches a...

JMD Rover 800
... owned a lot of Rovers, 800 s included and the Vitesse (sport) seems to bring all that is good, and bad about Rover together. The electrical problems stay, as does endless rattles and squeks. The trim, while pretty simply isnt fitted properly. BUT, mechanically they are sound. Infact underneath the rattles the car is superbly assembled (thanks to a mix of honda and Rover) Its strong, easily repaired from impacts and very reliable. The best bit about the sport tho is the way Rover have done there own thing and dropped the honda engine, steering and suspension setups. The result is a shockingly competent big car. The T16 turbo engine is fantastic, where in the smal...

... bought a 1998 rover 200 sli. It was automatic and stunning it had sports alloys and metallic blue paint.I paid 2000 and part ex d a vauxhall caviller. The car ran fine for a year then the problems started... The first thing to go was the gear box. I noticed a whirring noise when i drove and asked my dad to check it over. He told me straight away it was the gear box. So i set out to have it repaired but had to ring around 30...yes 30 different garages to finally find a specialist to fix it as it was automatic. The job cost 355 to repair. I thought all was well and was quite happy after that. (that was september of 2006) in the november the next month i had the brake pipe...
