Rover 25 1.4iL 16v 3dr (103bhp):
... here we have the Rover 25 1.4iL 16V 3 Door with the derestricted 103 Brake Horse Power engine. Note The one thing to be wary of with Rover s / Mg s is that the newer they are, the worse they are...doesnt make sense i hear you say. Speaking from experience as an insider in the automotive trade with a particular interest in everything Rover, the Mk1 Rover 25 was the best one quality wise, the Mk2 was questionable.... Rover 400 ... bought a P reg, 1996 Rover 416 Si 10 months ago and I have to say it s the worst car I ve ever had the misfortune to own. It has a few good points, and lots of bad. Good - Nice look. I know 90% of people hate the look of it, but I think it looks very classy. I like the fake wood interior etc. The seats are very comfy to sit in. Boot space is great. Bad - Where do I start? Oh yeah ... the engine. From the day I bought it, it always ran hot, and the tiny radiator reservoir needed constant checking. I forgot to check it for 3 days and it overheated badly. But it seemed to right itself within a few days but from then on it drank lots of water - about 2 litres a week. Two ... Rover 75 2.0 litre CDT ... Rover 75 has an image problem. There are those that say it is called the 75 because that is the average age of the owners of the vehicle. For this I think we have to look at Rover s corporate image and the image chosen for the 75 in its advertising. Rover does not seem to have benefited in image terms for its period of ownership by BMW. Rather Rover seems to be have been perceived in these terms, Rover owned BY and subservient to BMW and not Rover being part of the BMW range of products. Whilst for BMW this made the sale of Rover relatively easy it has left Rover vulnerable to a perception of inferior quality. The Rover 75 was introduced as a quality rather than a m... Rover 214i 3-door ... had 2 Rover 214i s, The first i never drove as a standerd car, just moddified it. A lot. Engine was swapped for a 250bhp T16 and the suspension and brakes were changed to track spec items. So, when i came to drive a 214i for the first time i was prepared for a disapointment. The modded car was seriously impressive (proved in competion) so could the base machine compare? Amazingly it did. It drove supperbly. Rover had obviously delibratly tamed the chassis but it felt so capable and was jus spot on. Not fun like a focus, just capable. Very. The engines deserve credit. On a low budget and designed as a cheap way of powering there base cars this motor still punches a... Read the full review: wow... by JMD |
