... I'm now on my third tank of fuel and got 61 out of the first with just under 63 on the second.
The 1.4 is a bit noisier than the 1.9 I had before, but once up and running its fine, just shakes a little at idle, I may get the garage to have a look at the next service, but as its a three cylinder diesel its probably ok. Skoda Octavia SLX TDi 5dr ... car in a combi version two years ago. The first is reliability. Since that i made 80.000km around whole europe and never had a problem with anything except electric windows and tyres. So i must say that this car is the most reliable car i know. The second excellent thing about this car is cost per km. All the Laurin octavias are made with 1.9TDi motors with 81kw. I have a chiptunning to 97kw. Using this chip i need only 4.5 - 5.5 liters of diesel per hundred km. Thats great for a huge car! The third is comfortability. This model has got leather seats with good automatic climatronic and everything is automated by electric power. And at last this car is very pactic. A... Skoda Superb 1.9 PD TDI 130 ... The Superb was built for me. The Superb is just that, it wafts me along from Northampton to Leeds or Bracknell with no fuss, effortless ease and in complete comfort. The Elegance model is very well specified: Full Heated leather (front & rear heated seats!), elec front seats. Cruise control, 6xCD stacker, climate, xenon headlights, elec sunroof, elec windows, rain sensitive windscreen wipers, headlamp washers, multifunction steering wheel, trip compter blah blah blah.............. The massive torque (for petrol drivers this will be a new experience) allows you to drive this car with so little effort. 45 - 70 (ish) is effortless in 5th gear, whereas poozing round ... Skoda Favorit ... behold. Everything on this car is square. The general shape of the body is flat with no curves at all, the interior boasts square air vent, square buttons for the lights, square glove box, square dashboard, square indicators, the list goes on. The only things on this car that aren't square are the wheels, and I'm not too sure they didn't think about making those square either. The car is, however, very comfortable to ride in, even over long distances, so again its practicality over style. Regarding the speed of the car, it is surprisingly nippy when pulling away, which well suits town driving, but it doesn’t compare well at the top end. It will cruise well at 70 but 80 ...
