	Skoda Fabia in general ... driving my dad s Nissan Micra for the few months after passing my test, this is the first car I owned proper, and indeed still do own. I did do quite a lot of research before I bought the car, and overall I think I made a pretty good choice. It s not the most flashy car on the market, granted, I think it probably has a little bit of a pensioner image. The Skoda brand has certainly had stigma attached to it, to say the least. However, this is a great little car. The worst thing that has happened in the 3 or 4 years which I have owned it is the battery died, and obviously had to be replaced. 	Skoda Octavia in general ... the mighty Trabant! I wanted to buy into a reliable German Diesel like an Audi A4 or VW Passat. My ex. Boss had got himself an Audi A4 and always moaned about the £400-odd cost of its annual servicing. My two brothers had both recently changed their cars, one getting an Audi A6 and the other bought himself the VW Polo. I had heard about the VW takeover of the Czech automobile manufacturer Skoda and made enquiries about the Octavia that looked rather like the VW Passat but offered for sale at a fraction of the cost but still with benefit of that VAG diesel engine.
