... called experts do. If this car is the best then I pity anyone driving the worst. However, I would recommend the Vauxhall Astra as I have driven one for many hours and it is ten times the car to drive than the Fabia( it may be more expensive but it is worth it) Also Skoda have reduced their prices and have lowered their spec. Skoda Octavia in general ... a Glx Tdi for 4 years. It was quite a nice car until it started to go wrong. The car developed a mind of its own, opening doors and windows, switching the radio off, and cutting out on the immobiliser. Eventually, both rear windows went down and wouldn't come back up. This was a month ago. The problem is still not fixed and the windows are still open after the car has been seen by 2 Skoda main dealers. One attempted to jam the window closed with a bit torn from a cardboard box, but it fell down again under its own weight. My advice, if you're thinking of buying one, is to "remember the jokes". Skoda Octavia 1.8l 20V Turbo RS ... Skoda Octavia RS has got to be the best value, most fun, and most practical car out there on the market at present, and let me tell you my opinion why. As a company director, I had free choice of what car to get, but still I wanted to be practical on the cost of the vehicle. After looking around many, many cars, Audi A4, BMW 3 Series,Mazda 6, MG ZT etc (awful), one of my friends suggested a run out to the SKODA garage. Skoda Octavia SLX 1.8 Turbo 5dr ... I start to praise this car let me tell you about its bad points, well that's easy it only has two downfalls: the name, let?s face it when you hear the name Skoda you think of some Russian yokels nailing together some old tin buckets containing lawnmower engines. : Some of the trim levels, if you buy a new one out of the box you'd better have ordered the leather! Otherwise you could be looking at a cloth trim that wouldn't look out of place in a 1990 Vauxhall Astra. now to the praise, the cost; you have to ask yourself this 'how much is the passat 1.8t 20v' the answer to that is if you bought one second hand without all the toys ...
