	Vauxhall Corsa (pre 2000) ... recent years, the Vauxhall Corsa has become on of the favourite cars for young drivers that have just past their test. The pre 2000 models can be picked up for under a grand and are in the low insurance groups are cheaper then other cars to insure (although any insurance for a young driver cost a fortune). I have a red 1998 1.4i GLS, which is a pretty good model for the price I paid and it drives very well. I would definetly recommend this model for a first time driver, or person that does not drive frequently as they are quite cheap to run. 	Vauxhall Vectra 1.9cdti Exclusiv ... have owned my Vectra (hatchback) from new for a year now during which I have covered 16 000 trouble free miles. This is the third incarnation of Vauxhall s popular family motor that was superseded by 2008 Car of the Year, the Insignia. I chose the 1.9Cdti because I wanted a comfortable and practical mile muncher with decent space and it fits the bill perfectly. The Exclusiv is in the middle of the Vectra Range, there is also a Plus Pack for this model which includes alloys, DAB radio and front fog lights which I wish I d gone for to be honest. 	Vauxhall Corsa (pre 2000) ... passing his driving test my partner was given a red R Reg Vauxhall Corsa with a 1.2 litre engine. It had 70 000 thousand miles on the clock and had been hardly used by the previous owners. Over the past year we have travelled over 20 000 miles and had very few problems with the car. When getting the car through the MOT the first year of having the car we spent £200 quid on a new exhaust and £25 on a tire as the tread had worn. Apart from this the car seems to be holding up and passed another MOT recently. This car is perfect for a newer drivers and is not as expensive as other cars to insure.
