... no-one outside of your Ferrari's etc make a better sounding engine than Alfa, I bought my car in the summer and didn't have the radio on for the first two weeks, I just had the window down and would listen to the sound my car was making. Performance is impressive for its time, I would find myself shaming much more expensive cars with the performance from my car and while the handling wasn't perfect it was well balanced and very good for its class. My one complaint was from the driving position, it was a little "a...more

They say, " You're not a true Petrolhead until you've owned an Alfa" and nothing could be more true, I owned my 1996 146ti for 2 years after buying it used from an Alfa Specialist when it was 6 years old with 80,000 miles, and I instantly fell in love with it. Family circumstances meant that I needed to replace my Smart Passion - which was a LOT of fun - for something roomier. I happened to see a used 146 ti on the forecourt of my local Alfa/Fiat dealer and stopped to have a look. The following day I test drove it, and was hooked within a mile! I part exchanged the Smart and collected the Alfa a few days later. Phew! Isn't it a great car?! Mine is a rich shiny black, with very pretty alloy wheels, and a businesslike-looking wing on the boot lid. Though an X reg, it had under 8000 genuine miles on the clock, and hadn't even been due for its first service, though the dealership had actually serviced it. ...  Read the complete review
