They say, " You're not a true Petrolhead until you've owned an Alfa" and nothing could be more true, I owned my 1996 146ti for 2 years after buying it used from an Alfa Specialist when it was 6 years old with 80,000 miles, and I instantly fell in love with it. It was red ( there is no other colour for an Alfa if you ask me ) and as soon as I drove it I was hooked, the sound you get from the Twinspark 4 cylinder engine is like no other, if you ask me no-one outside of your Ferrari's etc make a better sounding engine than Alfa, I bought my car in the summer and didn't have the radio on for the first two weeks, I just had the window down and would listen to ... I happened to see a used 146 ti on the forecourt of my local Alfa/Fiat dealer and stopped to have a look. The following day I test drove it, and was hooked within a mile! I part exchanged the Smart and collected the Alfa a few days later. Phew! Isn't it a great car?! Mine is a rich shiny black, with very pretty alloy wheels, and a businesslike-looking wing on the boot lid. Though an X reg, it had under 8000 genuine miles on the clock, and hadn't even been due for its first service, though the dealership had actually serviced it. ... Read the complete review
