A Rolls Royce with attitude (Aston Martin Vantage)
Member Name: Dai Watkins
Advantages: Powerful, Very powerful, Very luxurious Disadvantages: Too much power, Alittle too heavy, Expensive
With more power than a nuclear power station and the opulence of an english statly home, the Aston Martin Vantage is probably the best British production car to date.In V600 format its the fastest 4-seater in the world. It weighs about twice as much as golf GTi so you'd expect it to have twice as much power, well, you'd be wrong as it has four times as much. Yes, thanks to it's twin supercharged, 6 litre V8 the Vantage churns out a stupid 600bhp @5200rpm and 600lbft of torque at similar revs. This, mated to a 6-speed corvette gearbox can produce brain squeezing statistics. 0-60mph is 3.9 sec and 0-100mph in 6.7sec, and topping out at 200+mph. But power was not the only thing on Aston's mind when they built it, no, they even let you go fast in luxury. When you get into the car you are surrounded by bits of forrestry and leather, and not only that, your whole family can enjoy the expierience as there in the back are two seats. The only down fall to this masterpiece of machinery is that the car can't really handle the immense power as it is too heavy, go into a corner too fast you are going to plough straight on, forget the steering, forget the brakes. Your only lifeline would have to be the optional traction control, and if you have the money to buy the car then you should have the money to buy a lifetime supply of rubber, more tyres please Jeeves. But in the end, its an Aston Martin, any of the that doesn't matter. It weighs the same as a planet, but goes like the Starship Enterprise. Summary: |
