I have had my V reg Audi 90 diesel for about six months now and done over ten thousand miles and I am very impressed indeed. Having had a number of Mercedes diesels, I knew German engineering was good and this i b orne out by the Audi. It starts first time every time, even in the very cold weather. It has some very nice touches such as soft fading interior lights that come on as soon as you (remotely) unlock the car or when you pull the key from the ignition.

It drives very nicely, with enough torque and speed to overtake comfortably. It has brilliant fuel economy - returning 54-60 MPG on every tank. The seats are fine and the adjustments make for a good choice of seating positions. The gearbox (manual) is nice and smooth and, at 146,000 miles is still nice and tight, just like the bullet proof engine.

To be honest, the only gripe so far is that some of the bulbs (foglights, mainly) are a pain to change, being quite difficult to get to at the front. Having said that, when you get into the job, it all seems to make sense and goes together really well. I think there is a problem with the lower door trims on this model. Mine are coming away and all the ones I looked at before I bought this one had the same (sometimes none at all!) so possible design fault. The boot is huge and the access is nice and easy and the bootlid opens nicely.

All in all, a lovely car to drive, quiet, frugal and very stylish.
