Audi A3 in general:
... put together is impressive. Its all very sturdy and cost no object.
The chassis feels rigid to. But that said for a car of these dimensions i found the handling a bit unpredicatable. It feels responsive but start to lean on it and it gives you little idea of when the understeer is to be swapped with oversteer. If you lean on it i recomend avoiding using the ESP. Audi S3 ... quality of the S3 was exactly what you would expect from a modern Audi competing on the level with BMW and Mercedes, the finish of the trim, carpets were flawless even after 4 years of use, the Gearbox was solid and so was the power delivery, all the electrics worked first time every time and still do today. The leather seats were in good condition with very few marks on them. exterior wise was much the same there were a few battle scars from stones and the supermarket days but this is to be expected of a second hand car. Audi A4 1.9 TDI 110 / 115 HP ... controls for the audio. The radio has a mind of its own and each time it is switched on it will select a station at random irrespective of which pre set was used before and still showing as selected on its display. My car has averaged 48 mpg and I suspect it would have been over 50mpg had I not been uder pressure to do those extra meetings. There have been times when the on board computer has predicted 750 miles from a tank of diesel and I regulary get 600 miles to a tank. Audi A3 2.0TDi DSG Sport/SE ... did when I drove it off the forecourt. The in car stereo (Bose) is fantastic with the sound just filling the car perfectly. The optional heated leather seats just add to the ambience and give the car that feeling of being a little special. I must admit for a car the same size as a Ford Focus or VW Golf it did surprise me how expensive it was initially but after owning it for 2 ½ years and traveling 55,000 miles it does feel like the money was well spent. The A3 has met and surpassed all my requirements, it is certainly not sluggish in pulling away from junctions and round-a-bout's and is fantastic for motorway driving where the miles pass effortlessly.
