BMW 525i SE Saloon
by Petrolheadguru
BMW 525 SE 1998,my wifes car for a few years, just sold about 18 months ago,not much wrong with it,just wanted something newer.I used it as often as I could though, lovely quality, excellent performance from that straight 6 190 HP gives more than enough entertainment for the average driver.Handling at least rates 4/5,economy was fair mid to ... high 20s mpg,but what do you expect when you drive like a hooligan?Ours was a well maintained 2 owner car with business miles but looked immaculate. We chose well, the car ran brilliantly, just needed a new water pump and radiator by the end after clocking up almost 150,000 it was still good for many more miles! It ran sweetly, regular oil, fluid changes every 10,000 miles and I am sure it would have lasted forever.Very well built, quality materials, plenty of gadgets,a spot of luxury for no money. We paid about £4k and sold 5 years later after putting 40K miles on it for just £1500,I think it cost around £30K new so it was really great value. We regretted selling it but 5 years is along time and it was starting to look really dated.Expect to bag a bargain now but still be careful, check it has a service history to back up the miles, these cars can take it and 250,000 miles or more is possible in one of these.Tyres can be very expensive and other items are not cheap either but remember its not a Honda Civic so expect higher than average running costs. No cambelt to worry about, bullet proof engine and performance is great,Highly recommended!
Thanks for reading my review and I hope you found it interesting. If this has been useful to you and you take time to leave Your rating it will be appreciated and hope you will take a look at my other reviews sometime.I also leave reviews on the Ciao website about this and other items, many thanks! BMW Mini One
by vikieb
This is a wonderful car! My dad recently bought a mini one to downsize from our old estate car enabling me to drive to college with my brother and to be his taxi service for a change! This car is an absolute godsend for me, not only does it run like a charm, but it is also surprisingly fuel efficient, costing only £35 for a full tank of ... petrol which in the past has taken me up to 400 miles from home! Perhaps not surprisingly, the mini one is also incredibly compact, enabling me to park in tiny spaces and monouver myself between my friends poor parking with minimal problems. However, this sometimes causes slight discomfort when all my friends pile in with their bags for a weekend away! The ipod connector is also great for me, enabling my brother to fiddle with the music direct from the ipod whilst we make our way to school. We got our mini second hand (but still only 9 months old!) and i cant see it causing me any troubles any time soon! Read the complete review |

by doddie82
Wow, I have had the BMW330i touring from brand new 2003, and i have been so pleased with that, when i drove the BMW 530i se touring.
I had it for a long weekend from main bmw dealership and i was amazed the car had plenty of room in the boot for a large suit case and my dog box which i have two large breed dogs in,
the drive ... was great engine pulls lovely with more than enough power for all needs. mpg was around 29-31 that knocking around the town and lanes.
as we all know BMWs are very well made and it shows inside the car leather seats were everso comfty and you would drive all day without a promblem. real drivers car. the handling was great, servicing costs high but few and far between, i drove it with the biggest grin on my face all weekend, go on spoil yourself you wont look back Read the complete review |
