The car comes with 3.5L, 3.9L or 5.3L V6 and automatic transmission. It's one of the last remaining full-size automobiles (if not the only one) that can still be ordered with a column shift and pseudo-bench seat up front. The car is reasonably economical and performance isn't bad for a full-size, although if you're looking to buy a full-size sedan you should probably compare the Impala closely to similar models offered by Honda, Toyota, Nissan, etc, which are increasingly charismatic compared to the pretty dull... more

You might not notice the Chevrolet Impala out on the streets, but when you do see one, you start to see them everywhere. The current model Impala is one of America's best selling 'domestic' automobiles (although it is constructed in Oshawa, Ontario in Canada) with many bulk sales to corporate and rental fleets.
