... models, made since late '94 are much better. The manual 2.1 td version is in my opinion the best, with a potential fuel consumption in excess 50 mpg. The quality of finish and construction is excellent as is their durability, 300,000 miles is quite attainable with regular servicing. Unfortunatly they are now getting very scarce, but there are a few good examples about if you are prepared to travel. Repairs can be expensive unless you can find a good independent garage but for the DIY owner costs are reasonable....more
