Citroen 1.1 3 door saxo review (Citroën Saxo 1.1i 3-door)
Member Name: daadr
Advantages: Very reliable cheap car. ideal first purchase Disadvantages: Plastic basic interior with no power steering. Welcome to my first car. I bought a 1.1 citroen saxo sx in the colour gold (51 reg) when i was 17, i learnt to drive in and had 1 years happy motoring in it. I bought it because they look good for a first car, they are cheap to buy and cheap to run with a group 4 insurance. At a 1.1 litre engine with a top speed of 101mph the car isnt going to go fast as i soon found out on the dual carriage way doing 70mph the accelerator used to shake. These cars really are the ideal first car for a boy or girl. I always used to find this car nippy to pull off at roundabouts or anywhere which is a good thing as you dont want to be taking a long while to pull out. If you are looking for a first car this is an ideal purchase with 43.5 miles to the gallon if you are looking for a powerful, big, spacious family car then you need to look further a field. There is plenty of plus points to this car including i never once had a problem with this car in 2 years, i then sold it to my mum who used it for a year and then sold it to my younger sister for her to learn and pass her test in, not once did it not start or have anything major go wrong, but the two down points i can think of is 1.) It doesnt have power steering and 2.) The interior is quite basic and plasticy. Rating 8/10 Summary: A great car as a first car. For a family car this is not the ideal one
