But in the last 3 years, I'm not sure why, it has been a great little car. I have it serviced every year now and I suppose it helps keep an eye on any possible problem. I recently drove from Sheffield to Paignton in 4 hours 10 and back again in the same amount of time. I was amazed how good it was on the road and I have no intention to get rid of it until...more

I bought my first car in September 04. It was a Citroen Saxo. It was 5 years old then. I'm still driving it. I am not going to lie and say it is perfect and I've never had any problems with it. Far from it. In the first 2 years I've owned it, I had to take it to the mechanic quite a lot mainly because of the brakes or the exhaust. It became clear to me that my car was not reliable especially in cold weather. Many times, it just wouldn't start. But in the last 3 years, I'm not sure why, it has been a great little car. Yes they dont have a great reputation for pretty much anything but when I was buying my car I couldn't resist a look at a SAXO, being only 17 when I bought my first car I couldn't o for anything too quick due to insurance prices. So I needed a nice looking 1.1 - 1.3 that wouldn't cause me problems or break within the first year. I first saw this Saxo ...  Read the complete review

To me, this is the description of ANY car on the market that doesn't have a price tag higher than my wage. This is such a negative start to a review of a car that I quite like, but I have to say I am fed up of people slagging off cars because a peer has told them they are rubbish. My mother-in-law has recently bought a Saxo 1.1i 3 door Desire. This is an appropriate name for this version, because due to the price/specification balance it is highly ...  Read the complete review

Incredible fuel consumtpion for its type. High level of extras.Styling Possibly a bit too electronic for comfort

cheap to insure & tax, cheap to run, well made, even base model is comfortable, nice boot, good looking a little flimsy if involved in an accident, pedals strange
