Citroën Saxo 1.1i First 3-door

I recently bought the above mentioned car with one former keeper. The car was in perfect condition with low miles, it is a '97 P. The car cost £1600 and runs superbly, the engine -for its size- is great, in the city and on the m'way. Handling is good, although my model has no power steering which makes parking a little more of a bother. The brakes, as a lot of people mention, are inadequate. There is just nothing there unless you stand on the pedal. Interior Spec' is just what you expect from a small car, airbag may come in handy, especially with the brakes! Myself and my son recently visited our local Citroen dealer because we organised a test drive on a 1.1i Saxo First. This was because my son is currently looking for a new car to replace his very reliable but ageing current motor, a Citroen AX. The Saxo has always attracted my son with its good looks and decent performance, but interestingly enough he was interested in the smallest engine option of the First.
