I recently bought the above mentioned car with one former keeper. The car was in perfect condition with low miles, it is a '97 P. The car cost £1600 and runs superbly, the engine -for its size- is great, in the city and on the m'way. Handling is good, although my model has no power steering which makes parking a little more of a bother. The brakes, as a lot of people mention, are inadequate. There is just nothing there unless you stand on the pedal. Interior Spec' is just what you expect from a small car, airbag may come in handy, especially with the brakes! Myself and my son recently visited our local Citroen dealer because we organised a test drive on a 1.1i Saxo First. This was because my son is currently looking for a new car to replace his very reliable but ageing current motor, a Citroen AX. The Saxo has always attracted my son with its good looks and decent performance, but interestingly enough he was interested in the smallest engine option of the First. There are several reasons for this, all unbelievably and unusually sensible coming form my son!!
