I love the colour of my car, and the interior all matches, with the yellow and blue pattern found in all Forte's. With regards to petrol usage the car is wicked, takes around 25-30GBP to fill the tank with the current petrol p...more

Premium Review Citroën Saxo 1.1i Forte 3-door: Naïve little me (1249 words)

I'd never had a car of my own till September last year, but then I made the fatal mistake of hiring a car and discovering the wonderful benefits they bring. Not being rained on at bus stops being my favourite, I just had to get me a car! Convinced that all second-hand car dealers were out to con me, and scared by the '1 in 3 used cars has something to hide' adverts, I had to buy new! One of my friends suggested the saxo, and as it was in my price range, I bought one! Now, I realise that may sound a bit naïve, but having only driven a handful of small cars and never having loved the prospect of driving, I didn't have a clue and so it seemed as ...  Read the complete review

This was my first car, and I have recently sold it for something newer. I picked it up 7 years old in brilliant condition, from the outside it looked like it had just rolled out of the factory. There was one thing about it though: it was bright orange. It didn't bother me though, I put twin black racing stripes down it and loved every second of it, it was a brilliant little car, ideal for a new driver. The engine, although old and reletively tiny, wasn't bad at all. You could rev it high and be rough with the clutch as much as you wanted, but I never had a problem (mechanically) with it for the two years I owned it. Despite this apparant ...  Read the complete review

This is my little baby, had my car three years now and I would be lost without it! The car is very reliable, only had a few minor problems. One of the main problems is the air bag light, it constantly flashes, I've had it fixed so many times but nothing ever seems to work. I think there must be a loose connection under my seat as when I move it the light starts flashing again. Also my breaks...now I know I'm a female driver but i always break in plenty time but they are so slow to stop, especially in the wet weather, but I have been told this is a fault with Citroen cars and apparantly my breaks are perfect!!! I wasn't sure what to expect before we bought this car as I had never been in one before and, as with a lot of super-minis, they often look better than they perform. The Saxo however is excellent, the first thing that struck me was the fact that it hardly makes any noise sometimes I'm not sure if the engine is actually running when stopping at traffic lights, as well as no noise there is no vibration at all. As an owner of the W reg' model I see a big improvement to the shape on older models, it looks a little more imposing on the road whereas old models looked quite fragile! ...  Read the complete review
