Advantages: nice little car

Disadvantages: pricey.

Any car produced by Citreon is going to cause you problems, let me tell you.
Whether its an image thing or simply the build/ride quality of your machine, Citreon dont cut the mustard.
That is of course, apart from the wonderful Saxo VTS.

It is a little box of tricks on 4 wheels.
It has a 1.8i engine pumping out enough horses to keep the Cheltenham Gold Cup busy for days. The Top speed is booked at 127 but im sure that is more than fast enough for its drivers.

I say this because the average age of all VTS drivers is about 18.
It seems every little rich boy has one as his first car to wrap around the nearest lamp post.
Shame really as they are mighty in the right hands (i.e. me!)

They look like a Peugeot 106 and drive like a 106.
Basically, they are a 106!
Remember, Citreon and Peugeot overlap a lot on development and parts due to their parent ownership.
The Car is very small with not a lot of room for Luggage, but then again, its a small hot hatch not a family saloon.
Alright for your weekly shop but thats it.

Insurance is obviously not too bad on these because the kiddie winks that drive them are getting insured.

Fiestas and Micras detract form the Citreon/Peugeot market share for one reason...
Price.
A Typical Fiesta is about 1500 cheaper than its corresponding Saxo. Equally different is the Micra.
People that buy a small car buy it to be cheap and economical. The Saxo is neither. It drinks petrol, particularly the 1.8 engine. Its a big engine for a little car.

Parts and maintenance are high on this car. It has a lot more extras compared to the standard car so it costs a bit more.
The maintenance and parts are expensive enough as it is on Citreons. French cars will bleed you dry once the start going wrong. I know from experience.

So its a good car, it looks nice but its expensive and driven by rich boys.
Its up to you but it might be worth loo
king for an alternative.

Since when is it a 1.8? there is no saxo 1.8 it's a 1.6 lite 8 valve for the VTR and 1.6 16v for the VTS. Do you actually own one? I'm not trying to be argumentative but I thought you had to own or haved used products you rate.
