7 1/2 years and 110,000 miles without a glitch (Citroën Xsara 1.9 TD SX)
Member Name: gtoba1962
Advantages: Economical when driven sensibly ie. keeping to the Speed-Limits, Exceptional good road holding Disadvantages: Gets dented easily especially in school car-parks.
I bought this XSARA 1.9TD SX on the heels of a ZX Avantage 1.9 and the tutbo really makes a difference. On its way to 110,000 miles I took part in a Ministry of Trade check on small independents and if it wasn't for them my engine would have been knackered before the recommended 70,000 mile Belt Change. Although not specified for action at 60,000 miles (actually 62,000 miles) the belt was examined and it was bad. The Ministry of Trade Inspector could not believe that the belt was so bad and as far as I know Citroen now recommends 60,000 miles. Summary: Economical, safe, great to drive, makes one feel part of the car.
