Advantages: it's brilliant

Disadvantages: none at all

I have a new baby. I had a Nissan sunny M reg and although it has been a great car it was starting to feel its age. I have bought a Citroen Xsara Picasso and I am in love again.

We went to the Citroen garage to have a wee look and I saw the Picasso. I loved the look of it, but being just under 5 feet tall, when I looked in I thought to myself ? I will never be able to drive that? It?s dash board as I call it was risen in the middle of the window and I couldn?t see over it. I?ve been going to the same garage for years and Kenny the salesman got me to sit in the seat. He then pulled a lever and low and behold it rose into the air and I could see everything

It has a great big windscreen and it is much higher than a normal car. When I come out of junctions or at road ends I can see above the other cars and see what is coming instead of creeping out with a neck like an ostrich.

I went for a test drive and I fell in love with it

We did a bit of haggling and made arrangements to collect a few days later.

It is exactly the same colour as is shown on the opinion description above. Now!
Where do I start?

It?s a January 2002 reg

For those of you who like to know about the engine

It is a 1.587cc
Multipoint fuel injection
Turning between kerbs (m)11.48
Capacity 12.1 gallons (petrol)
From 0 to 62 in 13 seconds
Max speed 106 mph
I average about 50 miles to the gallon

On the dash board it tells you everything a except what?s on the TV at 7 o?clock !

It tells you when you are due a service.
it tells how many miles you have done / how many miles you have left if you run out of petrol based on the average speed you have done in the last so many miles .
If a door is open
If the key is left in the ignition. if the lights are left on
Black ice warning
Central locking on/ off
Digital speed exceed
Handbrake on
Water temp.
And
more I?m sure I?ve not found yet
Digital clock with exterior temperature display and interior temperature display
6 function on board computer

The windows
Tinted
Electric at front
Heat reflecting windscreen
A very large windscreen
Intermittent rear wiper
The electric windows have a 60 second delay after the engine is switched off which is handy if you?ve forgotten to shut them
The wing mirrors are heated and come on when the heated back window is put on.

It has power assisted steering I find this great as I keep the car at the back of the drive and I turn there to come back out in quite a tight space so this is a great help.

I think that?s most of the important specs
There is loads of space in this car
Ross is six feet tall and he can stretch his legs no bother sitting in the back seat. he also likes to pose in the front with the sunglasses on .wooo!
I have had it for two weeks and I have done 500 miles already

There are a lot of wee extra bits us women especially like

There are mirrors on the sun visors
There are 3 full size seats in the back
The gear stick is in the middle of the consol
A height adjustable steering wheel
Height adjustable drivers seat for short people like me
It has a flat floor so you can carry longer items than is usual
All the back seats can be removed in seconds
Large pockets in the 4 doors for a 1.5ltr bottle and a can
There?s a drawer under the drivers seat
Anchorage luggage points in quite a few places
Storage compartment in the centre console
Two nine-litre compartments in the floor. Ross keeps his CD in there (I forgot to tell you there?s a CD player and radio)
The front seat fold down to make an armrest and places to put your drinks in
Aircraft style tables on the back of the rear front seats pouches on the back of the front seats
A 12-volt socket in the back
Front armr
ests which can come out if you don?t like them
drivers lumber adjustment
And there?s a Module box in the boot.(it?s like a wee trolley on wheels and it folds flat)

There?s a ticket holder on the front windscreen to hold your parking ticket. I keep Ross?s disabled badge on it. They have thought of every gadget you could think of

Another thing is the two height adjustment on the tailgate brilliant. Now I don?t need a step stool or shout on Ross to shut the boot.

I almost forgot there is air conditioning. This has been great in the good weather it is so cool

I told you it tells you everything but the TV programmes lol

How does it drive?

Brilliant. I thought it would be awkward with the gear stick in the front console but I got used to it in no time. I was told the area between the windows caused a blind spot but not as far as I?m concerned, maybe because I?m short and I sit forward quite a bit The engine picks up so easy, it?s a doodle passing another vehicle it just glides.
The only thing I have found awkward was it has no bonnet and at first I found it hard to judge how near I was to a wall etc. But it?s no problem now either. it drives like a dream. It picks up speed to overtake no problem and corners? it just glides round! I?ve only had it two weeks tomorrow and as I said before I love it.

So if you see a green Picasso. Have a good look. If it?s a wee woman driving with a big smile on her face it?s me.

Thanks for reading about my baby Lol Margaretxx

I?ve got a new baby and its green
The prettiest baby I?ve ever seen
So many gadgets I?m getting confused
So many things I?ve never used
There are pockets and pouches in wee hidden spaces
And lots of surprises and really strange places
My legs are so short, bum too near the ground
But the seat goes up in the Citroen I?ve found
I love it! I love it! I?m happy you see
Because I didn
?t have to buy it from QVC

My hubby (called Ross, 6ft 3in!!) has got one of these as a works car. I can't get over how spacious it is - it's fab. I had to move it the other day though and nearly shot myself through the windscreen...those brakes are pretty keen to say the least!!

Seen ads for this one on the telly. Long time before I'll be able to afford a car.
