Advantages: comfortable drive, lovely to look at, details details details

Disadvantages: have yet to find any

Our last car was a Renault Scenic and I have got to say that for us it was a disaster, the one thing we did like however was the space and versatility it gave us, so when we had to go and get a new car we had little doubt that we wanted another mpv, thankfully at this stage there was several out on the market and we had a good look around. We eyed the Citroen Picasso and where sold..

The lines of this car makes it aesthetically pleasing to look at beautiful curves and for the first time (not looking at a Mercedes Sports car - my big weakness) I actually thought That is a beautiful car. We went to have a closer look at our local car dealers and ended up with a test drive. As the car is comfortable and you just get a beautiful drive in it I was sold. My husband had a test drive and felt the same way so it was quickly decided that we wanted to buy this car. Due to our original local garage messing things around a little (not being very quick at sending us paperwork we wanted before signing on the dotted line) my husband went on the web and found a wonderful deal on the Picasso that actually was £2000 cheaper than the car we originally had intended to buy. It was also the 1.8 model as opposed to the 1.6 model so we felt very happy. (in total it took us 10 mins to do this deal with a garage up in Bucks the guy who answered our phonecall must have made the quickest commission of his career)

Well this was back in November 2000 and we are still happily driving our Picasso. I still think it is a wonderful drive I LOVE how it has the dashboard displays in the middle of the car and I love how easy it is to change the dashboard display, and there is so many lovely and well thought out touches to this car that I don't know where to begin.. to mention a few of these lovely touches.

The approx mileage to next petrol fill.

The ease of which it changes from miles to kilometres.

The 3 full sized seats at the back, making it possible
to have 3 car seats in the back.

And the gear stick halfway up the dashboard making it easily accessible and a very comfortable driving position (plus extra room between front seats)

Back in May 2001 we drove to Denmark in the car (via Harwich Esbjerg ferry) we were a little worried about driving for this length of time with 2 young children in the back (our daughters at the time was 1 and 3) but it went fine. We did not need to constantly get out to stretch our legs as you have a comfortable position to sit in and several possibilities to change seat position and our daughters felt happy and contended in the back just watching the car's and the landscape go by.. We drove just short of 1000 miles on this trip and at the end of it still felt happy with our choice of car..

My husband told me that he had been asked what got him down the lane of buying a mpv. He replied you don't decide to buy one your circumstances dictates you to get either a mpv or a station car.. Well given our circumstances (2 kids one on the way and living in the suburbs) I feel very happy with out choice of car and I do not see us changing it any time soon. Very good buy that I would recommend to anyone with a busy family life..
