I purchased my Citroen Xsara in August of 1998. It cost me £15,950. You get a lot of standard equipment for your money; Driver's airbag, Air-conditioning, 6 CD Autochanger/Tape/Radio, Alloy Wheels, Electric windows/door mirrors. The only extra I had to pay for was metallic paint. I was a little disappointed to find that a car of this specification only offered ABS as an optional extra. Inside the car you get amazingly comfortable seats with plenty of leg and headroom. Plenty of space in the back too for the average adult. This is where the trade off between the Xsara and a proper coupe exists. Lots of little pockets to put stuff! Good ...  Read the complete review

I call my citroen Claude, it is a good car BUT VERY THIRSTY, with them price of petrol I am really noticing how expensive he is to fill up £40 a full tank which only lasts 300 miles. My husband loves the sporty feel and look of the car I love the large hatch boot, and comfy seats. It is an ideal car for a 30 something couple with a small baby, plenty of room inside and lots of interesting pockets to put things in (like baby bottles). We haven’t had any major problems with the car, just niggly elecgtrical problems concerning the airbag which never seem to get solved. I find the clutch tricky, (my husband is always blaming it when he ...  Read the complete review

A note to the other reviews. I noticed all of you stated that you have issues with the airbag warning light. My brother recently purchased an Xsara second hand and decided to take it into friends garage rather then into the dealers garage to have the fault looked at. He found it to be an error with the sensors under the drivers seat, once they have been cleaned and reset, the issue went away. If any others see this review, get them to check there first, hopefully it will save you time and money in the long ...  Read the complete review

I would NOT recommend this car to anybody, a catalogue of catastrophes has left me with a sour taste of citroen. I have had problems straight from day 1, here are just a few of the problems: 1- Car arrives with 1/2 tank of petrol. - Full tank expected. 2- Heater controls stop working. - Garage repaired fault 3 times. *Initially the knob that selects what temperature the heater is to blow at became stiff. It then became very slack and stopped controlling the temperature. It was returned to the garage and repaired the fault on three seperate occasions. I'm assured once again that it is now fixed. "touch wood!". 3- Air Bag light ...  Read the complete review
