Advantages: Drive, roominess, comfort
Disadvantages: Parcel shelf cables
We've just purchased a ZX 1.4 Avantage. What can i say? One very nice, characterful car! Impressed by the spec and quality of the interior, we took it for a test. The car is lovely and light, easy to maneuver and with responsive pedals and gearstick. It's an L reg, on 80,000 miles. So not overly low or high mileage. I'd read on the Web some other customer comments, regarding little idiosyncrasies. This car sure has a few! On one hand, electric sunroof and windows, splittable rear seats and good luggage/foot space. But the parcel shelf is a devil! It has a retracting parcel shelf which doesn't, the cable hangs loose and so then does the shelf and leads to a LOT of squeaking in the back. My advice: listen while you test drive! Otherwise, a fabulous car, brilliant fuel economy and at that age, great value.
