Although at first the Matiz doesn't look like a great car, it's small and thin with a tiny engine. Although the tiny engine sounds bad, it held it's own on the motorway and never let me down. During the time I owned it not once did it break down or cost me anything other than petrol, tax or insurance. I didn't expect much from this car ... Read the complete review

Some people rate the Matiz as unreliable , however any second hand car can be unreliable, I had a 2005 Fiesta Diesel what was 6 months old, and in two years, the clutch, the Turbo and the Duel Mass Fly wheel has all to be replaced, luckily all under warranty, since then i have had 2 Matiz cars, and as long as they are serviced well, ... I was hesitant to review any of our cars as I do not drive myself. After hearing of yet another Daewoo Matiz with the same problems ours had, though I decided to give it a go, especially as I arranged most repairs, and my husband is collaborating on this review. The sections on driving and handling therefore are from him. Our ... Read the complete review

Alot of reviews on here seem to give this car "Top Trumps" in the star ratings... but believe me, you don't know what you're getting yourself into when your Courtesy Car is a Matiz.. In July 2003 after my old car gave up the ghost I wanted to get a car that would look and perform better than the last few cars I had. I could not afford a new car so I thought I would look around and not make a hasty decision. I visited a garage in Great Yarmouth, they were a Vauxhall dealer and I looked around. Eventually a ... I recently passed my driving test and up until now have been as most new drivers do trying to decide on what car to buy. Many people always recommend a Vauxhall Corsa, Fiat Punto or Volkswagen Polo for a first car so I looked up these. I was not really sure what to get so I scanned the autotrader to see if there were any good deals ... Read the complete review

When I was learning to drive this time last year, I really needed a small, cheap, first-time buyer type car, something that wasn't going to cost thousands to insure. As I am under 25, insurance is automatically expensive anyway, without having a big expensive car. When I went to a local dealership, accompanied by my Dad and ... Read the complete review

I used to have a huge Ford Granada Scorpio so, when I had to rent a Matiz, it was a culture shock! I rented one for 2 weeks in all, then sold the Scorpio and bought a brand new gold Matiz SE in September 2002 for 4900 pounds from Trade Sales in Slough (the Daewoo dealer next door wanted 6000 pounds for the same car!). It's an import ... Read the complete review

I have given my Daewoo a little name; 'Maureen the lawn mower'! Now don't get me wrong, I love it! I have the new shape model (M150) as its known in the trade - the cute Matiz was facelifted late in 2000, and remains Daewoo's most popular model. It comes in at around £6,500, (I paid almost £7,200! - because of alarm ... Read the complete review

The good old Daewoo Matiz. My very kind mother and me have the fortune of part owning this magnificent specimen of a car. It truly is the modernised version of the classic mini, economical, compact and not too bad to look at. I have only got a T registered model, so I am not quite up to date. Every one on the road wants to overtake the Daewoo Matiz, it must be because it is small and therefore considered to be slow, but not so.
