Basically I would encourage you to never buy a new Daewoo, if you have one and it's out of warranty DO NOT, i repeat DO NOT get it serviced by Daewoo. If you service it yourselve, make sure you get the MOT done at the earliest as it may take weeks to get parts as they are in short supply! Basically, the cylinder head blew, and it took 11 months of arguing for them to honour the warranty. Lloyds of London actually had to get involved before they found in my favour. The last time it was serviced.... 1) They left the gear linkage undone, came loose at high speed, unable to engage any gear. 2) They left the air filter undone, God know's ...

When I first purchased a daewoo nexia in 1996, i thought to myself...'Should i risk buying a car from a manufacturer thats just entered the market. The nexia GLXi was priced at just over £10,000. A bit pricy? maybe. I bought my N reg daewoo nexia glxi from an independent garage (Nowich) in summer 2000. It cost £3,500 (one previous owner: 47,000 miles) and came with many "extra's" alongside a good insurance group. There was such a difference in driving this car compared to my previous 1989 VW. The daewoo has PAS, ABS, SRS airbag, mice blue metallic paint, ew/esr as standard! (+ optional alloys). The 1.5i engine is 16v twin cam with 92bhp and delivers approx 40mpg combined. (Engine designed/manufactured by Isuzu, I think). Its nice to leave many similar age/size cars (ford, vauxhall, hyundai, even some honda/toyota) open mouthed at the traffic lights on green! ...
